Glossary
A glossary of Sliders terms and components.
Technical words will be added to this as I see fit.
Alternate Realities |
A universe that has formed because a split in history created a different society. |
Carbon copy worlds |
This is a parallel world that is almost identical to your own. |
Coordinates |
Interdimensional points that determine a specific world or reality |
Earth prime |
The home Earth of any slider. |
Exotic matter |
This matter lines the wormhole so that people or objects can pass safely through. |
Fanfic |
A story line that has been written by a person who loves Sliders. |
Gateway |
A cosmic wormhole that forms a path to another parallel dimension. |
Geographic spectrum stabilizer |
A device that controls the landing area of a timer. |
Hyperspace |
This is the area between dimensions. The sliders fly through this tunnel every time they slide. |
Interdimensional |
A term describing travel between or existence of parallel universes |
Parallel worlds |
A universe that has formed because a split in history created a different society. |
Photon trail |
The mater that travels through a wormhole. This allows the sliders to track wormholes. |
Physics |
A science that involves mathematics, laws and dictates some of the rules of sliding. |
Portal |
A cosmic wormhole that forms a path to another parallel dimension. |
Slider |
A person who travels between parallel worlds |
Timer |
A device that calls up the vortex. |
Time-space reentry coordinates |
A set of points where one end of a wormhole is to open. Without these set correctly, objects will burn up on reentry |
Torus |
The doughnut shaped piece of equipment in Quinn's lab. A particle accelerator called a cyclotron. |
Tyrodial codomoligy class |
A scale of readings that can be read to find parallel Earth coordinates |
Vortex |
A cosmic wormhole that forms a path to another parallel dimension. |
Wormhole |
An extreme distortion of time and space that forms due to a severe gravitational force. Exotic matter lines the walls of the tunnel formed. |
Z-2 dilettante embedment |
This refers to the amount of parallel worlds that are possible. |
