Before we start I should l also point out that at this point, Rachel and Ross are together, Monica and Chandler have been out, split up as Chandler has too much work on the WENUS and Monica is running the restaurant and it is running her life - so neither of them have the time for a relationship, although they desperately want one. It is a quirk of fate (or my imagination) that they are here now together with Ross and Rachel and Joey is around and Pheobe is on a date.

"Hey guys" said Chandler as he drooped into Monica's apartment.
Monica looks up and glares at him, "shouldn't he be working" she mumbles.
Rachel gets up and gives him a hug, and Chandler starts to smile as he feels better. Ross, gets up and goes for a drink. getting a glass of iced water, he goes to watch the sunset over the skyline from the balcony.
Joey comes out of the bathroom - and looks towards Ross getting through the window. He sees the door. "Hey Monica, Rachel, what is this door for over here?"

Cue Start credits.

Back to Monica's apartment.

> "Don't know"
"What door" enquired rachel, wondering why she had never noticed another door before.
"This one" smirked joey, and wondered how anyone could miss a door, as he leant against the bathroom door, which was open and he collapsed on the floor.
"Thats how" joked Chandler who was looking admiring at Monica and then weirdly at the door.
"Look there is no lock or handle on it" said Pheobe who had entered un-noticed to everyone.
"Pheebs, do you KNOW about that door?" came from Rachel as everyone looked at Pheobe.
"Yu-huh. Anyway, my date is in Central Perk waiting to meet you all - come on" But the door whinged Rachel - will still be there when we get back finished Pheobe and headed off outside.
And, since she was the only one who knows what happens behind that door, everyone followed her to Central Perk.
Pheobe was sitting on the sofa at CP when the rest of the gang caught up with her.
As they all passed through the hallowed portals of CP, they all stopped - who was it Pheobe was talking to - he was so familiar. Joseph. The data processor, who sleeps with co-workers' wives and brags about it the next morning around the water cooler. No, not him, the other guy, - Neil, the scientist guy.
"Pheebs, he's back from Siberia, how nice for you" - yeah, until he is off again to the Bahamas to do the second part of his study - for 6 weeks, and guess who happens to have 6 weeks off work at the same time?"
"I would say you but it is such an obvious answer - so I will say me as I also have some time off coming up" quipped Chandler and then, if looks could kill, would have been obliterated by the one Monica gave him.
"Yeah me."
"Nice Pheebs, at least your boyfriend told you about the holiday" fired Monica looking at Chandler.
"At least your boyfriend is PAYING for it" replied Chandler, and went over and hugged Monica "if you can get time off".
"Rachel and Ross smiled at each other, as they got the apartment to themselves.
"So, Pheebs, tell us about this door" Rachel said sitting on Ross' knee as everyone got a coffee and sat down...

Scene Central Perk, Gunther is serving coffee at the tray spot, everyone is in their usual spots (Chandler and Monica holding Hands, Pheobe sitting in the 3rd spot on the couch, Rachel. on Ross's knee, Joey in the chair at the other end)
"So, Pheebs, tell us about ..." Joey was saying.
"Neil, he is so cute." said Pheobe cutting him off mid-sentence. "He was telling me about how they were digging through the ice, and he found that there were not just one layer of ice, but lots of layers all of different types." she continued unaware that only Chandler was listening, and even he was making faces at Pheobe. "They then found the body of a dead data processor who ws killed when the wind changed and his face stuck like that" and she glared at Chandler.
"Anyone want some coffee" Chandler replied "Pheebs, would you like some ice?" and Ross smirked. Rachel got up and went to the counter, as Gunther suddenly felt the need to count the number of plates which were in the NEW tray-spot - which was where Rachel put them in her time as a waitress.
"Hello Gunther" said Rachel as Gunther swooned as she approached "how is it on that side of the counter since I left" as Chandler arrived beside her to order.
"Erm, the coffee is nicer, and there are now no complaints of spiders under coffee cups, but everything is is a little more depressed since you left us" Gunther moaned. "Chandler, what can I do for you" he said, hoping for a serious answer, how he hated Chandler's quips, and wondered how Rachel put up with him.
"My apartment needs a repaint" joked Chandler "other than that, some coffee would be nice - 3 cappuccino's, 1 white coffee, 1 tea with milk and two sugars, and whatever Rachel wants"
Meanwhile, back at the couch...
"so you see, the ice gets squashed as more ice gets put on top, and this mans that it is harder to get more ice the further down you go" Pheobe was finishing.
"In that case, how do the Ice-Men get out?" Joey said confused
"What Ice-men?" Ross replied, looking at Joey as if he was a three legged cicken with 2 heads.
"The poor chicken" said Pheobe looking at Ross.
"The ones in the Turtles" Joey said, "how can you not have heard of the Ice-men?"
"Because he has lived all his life in the Sahara and they have all melted?"quipped Chandler sitting down with his arm around Monica.
"Never mind" Joey said "you are obviously not educated" talking to Ross with his Phd and complete knowledge of fossils "what about this door dearest Pheebs?"
Monica and Rachel picked up this comment and looked at Joey in shock, but no one else noticed and so they assume they misheard.
"Oh, y'know, it is a door" Pheobe started as her Tamogatchi bleeps, "and it wants feeding again - do these things ever stop eating?"
All the group except for Joey reach into their pockets and check theirs - Ross of course has a dinosaur.
"No. Joey, why don't you get one" Ross enquired while feeding his dinosaur.
"I don't want one" was the reply before Chandler jumped in with "It got ill, and he took it down to the NYU hospital, and when he took it to Macdonalds, they laughed at him when he asked what they served for Tamogatchi's. He gave it to a kid who had fallen over and hurt his knee".
"That's so sweet" Rachel commented, and then shut up when she realised what she had just said, and Joey looked at her sheepishly
"So, this door" Rachel moved on quickly, "and no ice this time please".
"Ok, you see, it is this door and behind it is this room" beep beep went her Tamogatchi.

Scene - Central Perk, same positions as at the start of Part 2 but with coffee now.
Pheobe answered her Tamogatchis beeps, it wanted feeding again.
"Pheebs" Ross said as the group were starting to get a little agitated. "Behind this door is a room what else?"
"Ross, if you know what is behind the door, why are you asking me?" She replied, awake as ever.
"That is all I know as you have told us that already" Ross snapped, and Rachel looked at him soothingly to try and make him feel better, and he did.
"Oh, right then, why did you not just say that?" replied Pheobe. never mind, so, behind this door is."
Beep Beep went Chandlers Tamogatchi, and the group laughed. Were they ever going to get to hear this story?
(Cue opening credits)
Scene : Same as before.
Pheobe started "I know this is cruel, but PLEASE ignore any Tamogatchi beeps so I can carry on talking. But dont ignore them for too long please - I hate to hear a poor creature suffering when no one is listening."
"Ok Pheebs" came from the whole group.
"For Joeys benefit, who does not know this" began Pheobe, "I learnt this from Monicas grandmother, the previous occupant of the flat which Monica and Rachel now occupy. Before, Monica lived here, her grandmother shared this flat with her grandfather, and they are now both somewhere in the world. During this time, no one ever went into this room either, as it was said to be bad luck. Now, am not being superstitious or anything, but it is said that anyone who goes into this room, will have something weird happen to them. I have never entered that room, as my luck is bad enough as it is , without something else to make it worse." Why did she never tell me any of this?" Monica enquired looking almost as worried as Rachel, who was holding on to Ross very tightly.
"Because she knows how neurotic you are and how worried you would get?" Chandler said, putting his arm around Monica to make her feel a bit more secure, and Joey was smiling as if he didnt believe a word of it, which incidentally he didnt.
"OK, so legend has it, well I have heard this, and I think it might be true, that the room is empty, and nothing is in there."Ross, Rachel, Monica, Joey and Chandler are all looking at Pheobe, waiting for the next word from her lips.
"And?" said Monica breaking the silence.
And what?" Pheobe replied taking a sip of her coffee, and didnt I order tea?Gunther" she shouted, and looked towards the counter where Gunther had been watching and listening from a discreet distance.

Please let her say that she wants me to come and check it for her, Gunther thought to himself as he heard Pheobe calling. He went over and stood over Phoebes shoulder.
"What can I do for you Pheobe?" Gunther murmured in his own inimitable style.
"You were listening, and arent afraid of legends what do you think" Pheobe enquired, hoping that he would back her up.
"Dont know, I could come and have a look for you and Rachel if you me to. It would be no trouble at all." He replied hopefully
"No, thanks" said Ross, "I am sure we can do it ourselves."
"Anyway", continued Pheobe I ordered TEA, not coffee".
"Oh, sorry" said Gunther as he went to get her a cup of tea.

Scene: Chandlers office, he is there working on the WENUS, he takes a break and starts daydreaming. He suddenly snaps out of the daydream when someone knocks on his door.
"Yello" squirmed Chandler in his own inimitable style.
"Hey Chandler" said Monica, putting her head around his door - as Chandler tried to look busy. "I'm sorry, I thought you were daydreaming"
"No, I am almost finished, I just have to get these to the workers, who will be here for a while yet. Back in a moment", he says, leaving his office to go in search of two co-workers, who will be spending the rest of the evening working on the WENUS.
He comes back smiling, and puts his arms around Monica "I still love doing that, and understand why my predecessor always left it till the last moment to tell people that they were working late."
Monica was shocked "But YOU don't do that do you sugarbunny?"
"No, I usually tell them about an hour and a half so they can get it done or about 10 minutes before they are due to go home" he added half mischievously.
"Assuming your boss doesn't mind, can we go now, Pheobe is telling us all about that room - and I want to know what is in there - it is in my apartment after all" Monica said. By the way, don't mention the holiday, she and Neil have split up - something to do with a swedish woman.
"OK, back in a moment" Chandler replied, leaving his office, with Monica looking out of his window onto the view of New York and the Chrysler building.
Scene : back at Monica's all are there in the kitchen except Ross, who is late.
"Where is ..." Joey starts as the door opens as in walks Ross.
"Sorry I am late guys, but we found a dinosaur" Ross started.
"Did you catch it? Dead dinosaurs can be pretty hard to catch you know, especially with all their bones in little pieces buried in the ground!" Chandler quipped, and got a stare from Ross.
"So, Pheebs, tell us about this door." Rachel started, as Ross sat down next to her.
"OK, y'know the door" she started, to a chours of "yeeeeeesssss" from the others.
"Well, as far as I know, no-one has ever come out of that room" Pheobe continued, to a gasp of shock from Joey.
"Well, that might have something to do with the fact that no-obe has ever gone into the room" she said, as Joey looked visibly more relaxed, and an "Ahhhh" came from the others.
"So, Pheebs, do you actually know what is in there" Monica said, a little anxiously, as Chandler put his arm around her shoulders to make her feel a little more relaxed.
"If no one has ever been in there, how can I know what is in there - except it is probably not decorated, and has a very clean aura." she finished.
"lets open the door and go in there" Joey said, excited like a little kid who has just found a new toy.
"Bu-huh" Rachel moaned, "it sounds awfully scary".
"I have an idea, I will ask Gunther, he has worked in this area for longer than anyone I know, and if he doesn't know what is behind there, no-one will" Monica said, moving towards the phone book to get Gunther's number.

Scene : Gunther's Flat
He is alone, watching TV, in an unfurnished apartment.
The Phone rings.
"Oh no, I was just wondering if that girl was going to get eaten by that great huge green puppet" he said as he picked up the phone, "Hello, Gunther here... Monica, how nice to hear from you ... That room, all I know is that no one has ever been in it ... I don't know anything else, but I would be interested to find out ... no, I couldn't, I wouldn't want to impose ... I am not going to be able to say no am I ... OK, I will be round in about 20 minutes." he finshed, grabbing his coat and switching off the TV.

Scene, Monica's flat : same as before.
Knock on the door
"That'll be Gunther" Rachel said getting up to answer the door as Gunther knocks again, and the starred mirror to the right of the door finally falls off, which it has been threatening to do for years.
"Noooooooo" yelled Monica.
"Oh dear" said Ross.
"Ahhhhh" commented Joey.
"The aura is now very bad" added Pheobe.
"Hello, nice apartment Monica, Rachel" Gunther said, as it was his first time to be invited here not for a party. "Scared of a room are you big butch Joey" he quipped, and Joey shifted uncomfortably.
"No, just not unscared" he replied, struggling for an answer.
"So, where is this door then?" Gunther said, as rachel showed him.
"Anyone got a torch? Oops" said Guther, as he noticed the smashed mirror
. "It's an Omen" Pheobe moaned, "we should not open the door now"
"Rubbish Pheebs" Chandler snapped.
"So this is the door that you are all scared of is it" Gunther started, moving towards the door.
"Anyone got a torch?"
"erm, no" came from the whole group.
"Here you are" Joey started, "picking up a lamp and switching it on"
"Anyone coming?" Gunther began to which Ross volunteered and Chandler also did, but looking less sure, and Pheobe came along to see what the aura was like in a new room "OK, lets go" Gunther finished pushing the door - and it didn't open. Ross, Chandler, Pheobe and Gunther all put their weight against the door, and it creaked open, revealing a dark room.
"Aaaaaahhhhhhhh" Joey muttered as Gunther switched on the lamp.
Gunther moved slowing into the room first, followed by the rest. As Gunther moved deeper into the room, the lamp went out and everyone ran back into the living room, terrified.
"It's haunted" rachel said, shocked.
"Either that, or the power cable got pulled out of the socket!" Ross said, trying not to laugh, but started to laugh with the others. "I'll get a torch from home", he said leaving. Ass Ross leaves, everyone sits down in the living room, and Gunther starts to tell that he is planning to open an English style Fish and Chip shop next to Central Perk. Time passes, and Rachel has fallen asleep, and the others look very bored.
"I'm back" said Ross, closing the door gently so nothing else falls off.
"Who is coming in now?" Gunther declines, as he has to get to CP to work, so he leaves, wishing everyone luck, and asking them to tell him all about it, "if they survive" he adds mischievously.
Slowly, they open the door, and switch the torch on, to see a very small, undecorated, room. There is no furnishings what so ever, and Chandler disappears into the shadows, and comes up behind Monica, and makes her jump and he ends up grabbing and holding her - and they end up kissing in thedarkness of the room.
"Ooooohhhhh the aura in here is so yummy" Pheobe says, smiling, and Monica and Chandler sneak out of the room to go to Chandlers, forgetting to tell anyone.
"Nice" Rachel said very unsure "could do with a complete redesign though" as Ross looked at her funnily.
"OK sweetie" Ross replied, quietly hugging her to make her feel much more secure. "Chandler?" he said, noticing Chandler has disappeared. "I know Monica left, but where is Chandler?"
"Ooooohhhhhhh aaarrrrrgggghhhhhh" Joey mouthed as Ross panned the torch round the room, with Joey leaving rather hastily as it dawned on him. "My bud, my room-mate, we are bracelet buddies, we can't split, what has happened to him?" as he was joined in Chandler's apartment by Ross and Rachel hugging, and Pheobe looking happy. "That room ..."?
"has a really loving aura" Pheobe interrupted.
"Where is Chandler? We can't lose him? Who would make the jokes?" Joey began
"who would we all laugh at and with? Who would lend you money?" Pheobe continued.
"Who would make Monica feel happy? Who would make up the group who watch ice-hockey together?"
"Me?" said Chandler, appearing hastily dressed from his room, with Monica's arms around his neck.
"Chandler" Joey yelled
"Chandler!! I thought that room had a yummy aura, now I know it is true. Look what it did for you two, it got you lobsters back together"
Meanwhile, the other two lobsters were kissing on the chair, as Ross accidentally hit the button which altered the lean on the back of the chair, and Ross and Rachel suddenly ended up in a tangled heap on the floor, laughing.
Later at Central Perk.
Gunther is sitting next to Pheobe, Joey is not there, Ross and Rachel are cuddling, and Monica is looking at the door, waiting for Chandler to get back from working on the WENUS.
"So, that's what happened Gunther. Thanks for your help Gunther" Pheobe finished, and she kissed him on the cheek.
"Thank you Pheobe" he said smiling and getting up to serve some coffee
"a cup of tea would be nice" Pheobe added.
"anytime - it's coming" Gunther said as Ross motioned Pheobe to go for it as he had long known how much she liked him, and he thought she was a lot less spoilt and selfish than Rachel and wondered how Ross put up with him.
"I'll come and get it Pheobe said, getting up and walking to the counter, and they started talking and from the table, Monica half watching saw Gunther kiss Pheobe again on the cheek and Pheobe return it, and she smiled. Maybe now Pheobe would get someone who was nice, as Gunther really was caring.
