Rachel/Monicas Place
After Phoebe and Agent Dana Scully got home from the hospital, she told the gang the good news.
"I don't have the same cancer Dana got after going through the same experience I did." Phoebe rejoiced as she got in the room. Ross and Rachel had since arrived at the apartment and the place was full of happiness and joy. Phoebe sat down on the couch after having some cake served to her on a plate. Chandler came and took the plate away.
"Phoebe we got you a gift for such an occasion." Chandler said giving her a large wrapped object."We know we didnt know you were gonna have the screening today. To be honest this was really a belated birthday present, but today is as good as any to give it to you."
"Thanks." Phoebe said and unwrapped the object. "The paper is so beautiful, I want to be careful." Phoebe finished unwrapping it. It was a large book with an intricate looking ornament on the front of it. "It's a book."
"Its a book you can write in." Rachel said opening the book showing the books blank pages.
"Wow!" Phoebe said. "Its like a diary. But its in leather."
"Phoebe youre not eating the book honey, and its fake tanned leather." Rachel explained.
"How can you tell?" Phoebe asked.
"Cause this was made in India." Monica explained. Phoebe gave her her trademark blank look.
"Cows are sacred in India Pheebs." Agent Fox Mulder said."They would never kill a cow for a book binding."
"Ah, good." Phoebe said. "I wonder when I will first write in this."
(Xfiles theme credits run through, but this time instead of "The truth is out there" "Ross and Rachel Forever" replaces it)
Day One
Phoebe took her book with her when she went to Central Perk. She looked outside at the weather and thought to herself.
"I wish it would stop raining so I can walk to the cafe today."
She decided to write the thought inside of her book. As she wrote it, it stopped raining. Phoebe smiled and started toward the. It was now such a nice days she decided to sit at the outside tables and write in her book some more. As she settled down Ross came outside with his cup of coffee.
"Hi Pheebs." Ross said sitting down.
"Hey." Phoebe said. "How are you?"
"Pretty good." Ross said looking at the book. "Hows the book?"
"It's great!" Phoebe said opening it. "I get to write down my thoughts and feelings and groovy song titles."
"Well, first page is a good place to start." Ross said pointing to the first page.
"Huh,I thought I wrote in that page already." Phoebe said puzzled.
"Hi Ross?" Ross heard a familiar accent come from across the street. He and Phoebe looked up at the same time.It was Emily, the woman Ross dated during the small spat he had with Rachel a couple of months ago.Ross set down his coffee as he went to speak with Emily.
Phoebe with new thought in mind started to write.
"Emily is here, shes the girl Ross used to date when
he was having troubles with Rachel. No one liked her
very much, including Rachel. I never liked her much either."
Emily waved and started to cross the street.
"There were times where I wished Emily would get hit
by a cross-town bus or something. Phoebe B."
Phoebe was just finishing her signature when she heard a loud thump. She looked up.
Emily had been crossing the street, not looking either way when a bus had apparently come along and hit her as she was crossing. She now lay sprawled out on the pavement.
"Oh my god!" Ross shouted as he reached her. "Will someone get an ambulance!!!"
Phoebe said down and looked at her book. The page where she had written the "wish" was now blank. She looked up.
"What have I done?" She asked herself as people now rushed to see if they could save Emilys life.
The Hospital
Ross and Rachel sat in the waiting room outside the ER where Emily was taken after her mysterious hit and run accident had occured. Phoebe had come along with the book. She stared at it as the doctor came in.
"I'm sorry." He said to Ross."There was nothing I could do."
Phoebe sat in shock after the doctor left. She once again looked at the book for a bit as if trying to figure out what made it tick.
"Pheebs?" Rachel said as she sat down next to her. "It's time to go."
"Okay."
Phoebe was quiet all the way home. She was trying to decided whether or not to tell the guys about the book and her wish. But without the written proof, would anyone believe her or think it was just one of her whimseys? As the car stopped in front of the apartment she figured out her plan.
The gang started to go up the stairs.
"I wonder how that accident happened." Ross said thoughfully.
Phoebe remained at the bottom of the stairs.
"I did it!" She said as they were reaching the top.
"Phoebe you werent driving that car." Monica said.
"No no no!" Phoebe climbed the stairs. "I meant what I said, I killed Emily!"
"What do you mean Pheebs?" Joey said brushing some hair out of Phoebes face.
"I'm not nuts!" Phoebe protested.
"We didn't say you were." Rachel said.
"Come with me." Phoebe grabbed Rachels keys out of her hand and unlocked the door. "I'll show you how it happened."
Everyone followed her in with uncertain looks on ther face.
"I wrote in this book that when Emily was dating Ross I wished she would get hit by a bus." Phoebe said opening the book. "But after it really happened the book erased itself."
"Phoebe are you sure you didn't make brownies?" Chandler asked her calmly while putting his hand on her shoulder. Phoebe shook it off.
"If you don't believe me I'll show you." Phoebe grabbed her pen and sat down.
"Rachel and Monica work so hard at their jobs, I wish they would get a raise."
Phoebe showed the guys what she wrote. "All we gotta do is see what happens."
"Phoebe nothing is gonna happen. What happened to Emily was a freak accident." The phone rang interupting Rachel. "Just a sec. Hello? Hi Sophie. What? You mean I got a 25% raise out of nowhere?" Rachel looked at Phoebe. "Hang on I got another call. " She pressed the call waiting button. "Hi. She's right here, hang on." She covered the phone. "Its the restaurant, Monica. You just got a 25% raise too!"
"Oh my god." Monica said looking at Phoebe. Phoebe then looked at the book. The book was totally blank again.
The whole gang sat for several moments looking at Phoebe and
her book in complete shock.
Day Two
Luckily Mulder and Scully had not left town. Phoebe stayed the night so she would not be tempted to write anything in the book until the agents were notified. It was hard not to be awestruck by the book. But it now also terrifyed them.
Scully and Mulder came in the door. They were there so often now they didn't need to knock. Scully picked up the book and looked at it.
"I think in order to stop it from whatever it is its doing is to write something it doesn't like."
"Like what?" Phoebe asked. Rachel was there alone with Phoebe, everyone else having gone to work for the day.
"Let me think of something." Scully thought and Mulder came up with an idea before Scully did which was very rare.
"I have an idea." Mulder said and whispered in Phoebes ear.
Phoebe nodded and put he pen to paper. Rachel tensed up
as the pen scrawled across the paper. Phoebe sat up and put her pen aside. The book began to groan and writhe. It started to spin and turn a bright color. Everyone had to cover their eyes. As the light faded everyone could see again.
The book was gone.
"Pheebs what did you write in it?" Rachel asked.
"The two words any book would fear." Phoebe said. "The End."
