Niles and Daphne woke up next to each other.
"Good morning." She said.
"Indeed. I can already tell that this morning will be better than any other." Niles said.
"I'm sorry." She said.
"Whatever for?"
"I know we came here for a reason, but I am so sorry we fell asleep on this couch last night." Daphne said. "It must have been incredibly uncomfortable for you. You should have gone on to bed. I would have been fine."
"I've fallen asleep here before. Believe me, this is the first time that its happened and I didn't regret it in the morning." Niles checked the clock. "Dad will be wondering where you are."
"Yes, it's almost time for Martins early hip work out." Daphne said rising from the couch.
"Daphne, you just called my father Martin. I don't recall you ever doing that." Niles observed.
"Oh my, I guess I did." Daphne said. "Maybe if things go the way we hope, I might call him dad someday too."
Niles smiled. He got up.
"I think it would be wise to change. Frasier and dad are bound to tell that we slept in our clothes last night, and heaven knows what they will think." Niles said.
"You go first." Daphne said. I"ll wait for you, then you can take me over to me flat."
"Have I ever seen your flat?" Niles asked from the bedroom.
"I doubt it, this is a day for new things isnt it?" Daphne asked.
Frasiers place
Niles and Daphne came through the door at the same time. They stopped when they realized they were being watched.
"Dad? Frasier?" Niles said. "Is something wrong?"
"Catherine?" Daphne said also now seeing that her cousin as among the group.
"Daphne." Catherine said coming to her. "I have news. Bad news I'm afraid."
"What is it?" Daphne asked moving closer to her.
"I got a phone call this morning at my hotel. Its our Aunt Hyacinth. She has suffered a horrible accident. Some one needs to go and take care of her after she comes of the hospital. We have no idea how long she will need assistance. But that is not the problem, as horrifying this is."
"What is is?" Daphne asked, eyes on Niles.
"She cannot decide between the two of us. She wants either me or you to come over and be with her." Catherine said, trying so hard not to break down and cry. "Auntie Hyacinth comes out of the hospital tomorrow. So its up to us to decide who goes to be with her. I can't decide. It's up to you Daphne. Do I go, or do you go?"
Daphne stood speechless. She blinked.
"I'll go." Daphne said finally after a minute.
