If She Would Have Been...

Two Days Later

Two days after Summer Fest, Mike gathered the guys in the living room for what Peter thought was a serious conversation.
Earlier that morning he had a long phone call with someone. Peter had no idea who it was but had a feeling it was major news when they sat down in the livving room.
"That was Don, that guy I was talking to at the gig a week or so ago." Mike said.
Peter nodded. He had seen him talking to this man during one of their breaks.
"So whats up?" Micky asked.
"This guy thinks we have a lot of potential to be big stars. He talked to some people he knew and through Sofies fathers company they are gonna let us make a demo of our songs." Mike said.
"Wow." Davy said.
"I know." Mike said barely hiding his excitement. "Sofie is still in New York. They want us to fly there and tape the demo." Mike said as he looked at his hand. From where Peter sat, he could see that had jotted down a few notes from his phone call so he could remember what to talk about.
"If all goes well with the demo what happens then?" Peter asked.
"If it goes well," Mike said. "Then we might get a record."
"Groovy." Micky said. "So when do we go to New York?"
"Tomorrow." Mike said. "They have everything all set up."
Tomorrow? Peter thought. He wouldnt even have a chance to say goodbye to Meagan. She had gone out of town again with Roger and hadnt talked to her since. Peter shook his head. He'll tell her the good news once they come back.
"It might be good to see Sofie." Peter said getting up. "I need to have a good long talk with her. We havent even picked a wedding date yet."
"With the way things are going Petah, you might not even get married till the albums done." Davy said.
"True." Peter said. "I'll get on the phone and talk to her about it sometime." He blinked. "We'll be in New York tomorrow, we can talk about it then."
"Good idea." Mike said. "Thats a short joke isnt it?" Davy moaned.
"At least it wasn't a kids table joke." Peter said with a smile.
"I was gonna say that, and now you went and beat me to it!" Micky laughed.
"Why I oughta..." Davy said pretending to get mad. The other guys hopped out of their seats and ran out to the beach with Davy following shortly behind them.
