Scene: Downstairs mailbox. Rachel is at the box that she shared with Monica and flipped through the stack of advertisements and various bills.
Monica: (From behind) Did we get anything good?
Rachel: (Grinning) Nope, not really. (Pauses as she looks at long white envelope) Huh. This is from a talk show. Monica: What?
Rachel: (Reading return address) The Jenny Jones show, but isnt that in Chicago?
Monica: (Poking her) Open it!
Rachel: All right, stop poking me. I'll open it. (Rachel opens the envelope.) It says here that they will be filming for a week in New York for a special series of shows, or something.
Monica: That being good and all, what does that have to do with you?
Rachel: Let me finish! "There is someone who wishes to talk to you on our show. For that to happen you have to agree to meet this person on our show." I wonder who that could be?
Monica: Maybe its Ross!
Rachel: I doubt it, otherwise you would have known about it, either you or Chandler wouldnt be able to keep your mouth shut about this. No offense.
Monica: You're right, I would have told you in a heartbeat.
Rachel:(Tapping envelope on her teeth) But who would have enough guts to meet me on national tv?
Monica: (Thinking) Then we can defintely rule Ross out.

Scene: Monica and Rachels place later that day. Rachel returns from errands and sees Chandler sitting on the couch.
Chandler: How we doing talk show girl?
Rachel: (Slightly annoyed) Monica! How could you tell Chandler?
Monica: I couldnt help it. He knew I had some dirt and stopped at nothing until I spilled the beans. He even cooked me a cheeseburger.
Chandler: Sorry bout that grease fire.
Monica: (haltingly) Thats all right, what do I need a crepe pan for anyway?
Rachel: Chandler, someone is coming to this show to say somthing important, right?
Chandler: (not sure what to make of it) Yeah, okay.
Rachel: So, hon, if this person is someone we know...
Chandler: You mean like Ross?
Rachel: (snaps fingers) Exactly.
Chandler: Well, I can truthfully say its...not Ross whos meeting you.
Monica: (Walks past with pan) Maybe this will make a good doorstop.
Rachel: (looks back at Chandler) You really think so?
Chandler: Yeah! But you know what I think?
Rachel: What?
Chandler: Since youre meeting this anonymous stranger, or maybe not, why not ask Ross along?
Rachel: Why?
Chandler: Because if you dont he will be climbing the walls at my place going (imitates Ross) "Whos she meeting?" "What if she likes him?". And you know how Ross gets.
Rachel: More than you know.
Chandler: And more than I want to know I'm sure.
Monica: Why are we assuming its a guy? It could be a long lost friend or someone who you once knew, it could be an old gal pal from our school.
Rachel: You got a point, it could be on your head, but you've got one.
Chandler: Hey...
Rachel: What?
Chandler: I thought I was the primary joker around here.
Rachel: Sorry. But it was obvious.
Chandler: I'll try harder next time.

Scene: Rachels bedroom - taping day.
Rachel: (pokes her head out the door of her room) Mon? Can you come in here?
Monica: Sure. Whats up? Rachel: Well this is the thing...I don't know what to wear to this kind of thing. I mean what if its a guy and I wear the wrong thing?
Monica: Like if its an old friend and you show up with that dress thats tighter than a sausage casing?
Rachel: Yeah, and the dress is not that tight! (pauses and thinks) It only cut the circulation off to my legs once.
Monica: Well wear this suit. Its pretty neutral.
Rachel: Neutral?
Monica: (nodding) Sure! Its serious enough if its an old friend thats there, and it makes you pretty if its a high school crush that is showing up.
Rachel: (heavy sigh) Monica you're brother was the only guy who had a crush in me in school.
Monica: You never know.
Rachel: Yeah.

Scene: TV studio, the "green" room. Monica, Chandler and Ross had come to watch the show. Monica was giving Rachel some last minute words of comfort.
Monica: Come on, breathe in, and out.
Rachel: On your way here did you see anyone familiar like?
Monica: I gather they keep your "friend" in a different room.
Rachel: Whys that?
Monica: Well if its someone you'd rather not see, its kind of of a safety precaution, especially after that gay guy got killed.
Rachel: Ah. So wheres Chandler and Ross?
Monica: (Shrugs) Actually I don't know. I think Chandler tried to pick up Jenny Jones and it went downhill from there. (Rachel laughs as a stage manager comes in)
Stage Manager: You're on in thirty seconds.
Monica: (Grabs Rachels hands) I will be in the audience. Good luck!
Rachel: Thanks. (Monica leaves, Rachel is lead to the stage.) Im gonna need it. (She sits down next to an overweight couple) Hi.

Scene: Jenny Jones Show "I got a confession"
Jenny: Welcome back. My, I think it would be an understatement to say this has been one interesting show. Up next we have Rachel Green. (Camera pans over to her. She is smiling nervously and her legs are crossed.)How are you today?
Rachel: Just peachy, I love surprises.
Jenny: Someone has something to say to you. Do you have any idea who it might be?
Rachel: Well at first I thought it was my ex-boyfriend but hes inthe audience, so beyond that I have no clue.
Jenny: (Backing up a step to Monicas row.) Do you mean Chandler?
Rachel: (blows raspberry) No! Ross is my ex. Chandler is just an interesting friend.
Jenny: Okay then. This mystery guest sees you a lot at where you used to work. A coffee shop named Central Perk? (Jenny finished uncertainly)
Rachel: Yeah but a lot of people worked there.
Jenny: Lets not hold the suspense any longer. Come on out mystery guest!
(Music plays loudly as the large door leading out of the studio opened. Gunther walked out to the music, very stiffly, Rachel noticed. He sat down next to her in the next seat over.) Jenny: So Rachel, what do you think so far?
Rachel: Not much, I guess it depends on what he has to say. (looks at Gunther)
Jenny: Gunther you called the studio a couple months ago.
Gunther: Right.
Jenny: Because you have something to say to Rachel.
Gunther: Yeah, I do.
Jenny: Well now is the time to tell her, or do you want to wait till after the break?
Gunther: (Quickly interuppting Jenny) I'll tell her now. (Takes a deep breath) Rachel, I have to tell you that ever since you started working at Central Perk I've had a crush on you.
Ross: (in audience but clearly heard) Oh my god!
Rachel: I'm with him.
Jenny: (To the camera) We'll be back with more after these messages.
Rachel: Gunther, how could you have a crush on me?
Gunther: I don't know, it just happened.
Rachel: Well can you make it un-happen?
Gunther: Just hear me out, just one date, maybe just even coffee...
Rachel: Gunther, you're a nice guy, but unhappilly (she leans in close, whispers something that cant be heard. Ross takes notice and trys to read her lips.) Are you gonna be okay with that?
Gunther: Sure, I've had before.

Scene: Later on in the show.
Jenny: So, so far, we have two couples. Rachel, whats gonna happen with you and Gunther.
Rachel: We're just gonna be friends. In fact he might even be a help with a current project of mine. (She looks at Ross.)
Jenny: What could that be?
Rachel: (smiles) Ask me on the update show.
