The gang soon arrived at the hospital. At one point Livvie, told Peter she could walk the rest of the way herself. She could tell Peter was getting tired from carrying her up and down the two hills to get to the hospital. At first he was reluctant to do so, but eventually he gave in. He was getting exhausted, and it was showing. Even Karen and Mike could see it. But also they could see the start of an attraction that Peter seemed to be getting for Livvie. He was very attentive to her and asked her about every fifteen minutes if she was all right. It was nice to see that he cared, but it was also starting to get a little annoying. In the middle of the next hill, Mike decided to ask her a little more about herself.
"Well, I've lived here all my life. I am about 17 years old." She said. "I live with my parents a few streets over. In fact I was out for groceries when the shaking occured." She noted. "I left my things at the store, and was on my way home when I got my heel caught in that cable car track." She looked at her foot. How was she gonna be able to explain what happened to her right boot? "If it had not been for heroic Peter, I would have been a goner."
As they reached the front door of the hospital, they heard some familiar voices calling to them. Mike and Karen turned to look. They saw Davy, Chea and Micky running up the hill. They were running fast to keep up with the others, hoping to catch them before they went into the hospital.
"Karen!" Chea called.
"Chea!" Karen said. They ran up to each other and gave each other a big hug. The guys did they same. Peter however stayed close to Livvie as she held her arm.
"We're so glad you're all right." Micky said.
"We were worried bout you guys." Mike said.
"When the earthquake struck, we were still in the hotel." Davy explained. "God, its a miracle we managed to come out in time. If we waited a few seconds more...we would have been crushed flatter than an orange on a busy sidewalk."
Chea nodded. "But we saved the you know what."
"What?" Peter asked. Chea looked at him. He then remembered it was the gadget she meant, and that she didn't want to mention it around Livvie. "Ohhhh, right."
Livvie must have missed the referance, she looked at Peter, but didnt ask about it.
"We need to get you inside." Mike said. As they were about to go inside, a whole fleet of people ran out of the hospital, carrying patients who couldnt walk. The ones who could hobbled as fast as they could.
"Whats going on now?" Mike asked.
"Must be meatloaf day in the cafeteria." Micky cracked. making his first joke in what seemed a long time. They watched them scurry down the hill. They followed closely to see where they were going. The crowd stopped short of half a mile from the hospital. Then the guys discovered what the commotion was all about. The hospital was in the midst of collapse.
"Oh my god." Karen said as they moved farther from the building.
"Can't just one thing work out for us?" Peter asked carrying Livvie.
"Wheres a doctor when you need one?" Micky joked.
But they knew the answer to that one.
1968
Brianna walked quickly down the street with her bag from the drugstore. Miracle of miracles she managed to find a cold medicine that didnt have to taste nasty to work. There was a lot of cherry flavored medicine. She took two bottles, it was better to have enough in case anyone else ever got sick. She almost got the same bottle of medicine that Davy had tried to give her. She had thought of saving it just for him, and making him take it just to see how he would like it! At the last minute she decided she wasnt that mean. She put it back and bought the ones she had.
She passed in front of a cemetary. She felt a slight chill in the air and pulled he coat tighter around her. She had no idea where it was coming from, but she had the creepiest feeling as she stood next to the entry gate to the cemetary. She didn't want to go in, see what was bothering her so much, but she found herself drawn to the last row of headstones. She looked at them. They were all about 1 foot high. Very plain looking headstons. But it was what on the headstones that disturbed her the most. She could recognize one of the names but she could not make it out due to the years of caked on dust and dirt. She put her bag down and started wiping at the name. As the name became clearer she scraped even harder. She stood back and observed her work. As she realized what the name read, she was almost knocked off her feet.
"David Jones, April 20, 1906???" She read out loud. She gasped and placed her hand over her mouth. She looked at the row of headstones in horror. She then went over to each one and wiped the headstone off till the name was visible. They were there almost in order; Chea, Micky, Karen, Mike, Peter and a girl she didnt recognize named Olivia Rose Carter. Maybe she did one more than she needed to, she thought. She stood there and looked over the row while she tried to understand what was going on.
"What are they doing in 1906?" Brianna said. "How come they didn't tell me they were going." She looked at Davys stone. "And why couldnt they make it back home?"

The gang looked on at the hospitals remains, while a crowd of people gathered around them. Peter clutched Livvie held her arm.
"That you don't see everyday." Mike said.
"I know." Karen said. "We've seen a lot of things that don't happen everyday."
Peter looked around. "Nurse?" He shouted. "Is there a nurse around?"
"I'm a nurse." A blonde woman next to him said. "I think I can help."
"She might have broken her arm." Peter said referring to Livvie.
"I'll try." She said. "Most of our supplies are in the hospital, and we all know what happened to that." She said pointing at it. "Lets get away from this crowd of people."
"Thanks." Peter said. "I don't even know your name."
"Heidi." She said."Heidi Thomas."
Chea looked at her for a second. "Thats my name too!"
"It is?" Heidi said looking at Chea. "I have a daughter who looks just like you!" Heidi grabbed Chea. "Whats your name?"
"Chea." Chea said. "Chea Thomas." Chea looked deeply into the womans eyes. She was blond, like her, but she was about the same age that she was. It couldnt be...
"Mom????" Chea asked.
"Chea?" Heidi said. They looked at each other. "It is you!"
"Oh my god!" Chea hugged her mom.
"I can't believe you've found me at last!" Heidi said.
"See, that doesnt happen everyday either." Karen pointed.
