Downtown

Scully felt herself pulled in one direction as she drove. She had one destination in mind yet she had no idea what it was or what would happen to her when she got there. She felt bad for leaving Mulder, Ross and Rachel at the museum after that incident with the specimen. Little did she know Mulder went back to "home base" the hotel and Ross and Rachel were last seen in the dinosaur exibit, Ross obviously showing her a completely different type of specimen.

Scully turned onto a side street and parked in the parking lot. She locked the car door and headed up in the direction she felt the mysterious spirit urging her. She now reached a familiar floor with familiar suroundings. Same burnt out carpet, same hole in the wall from the last domestic dispute. She finally came upon an open door. Carefully Scully nudged it with the tip of her gun. It opened very easily and the door knob softly cracked against the wall. The noise awoke the woman sitting in the middle of the floor sitting in a full lotus position. It was Phoebe Buffay. She looked slightly differnt from the last time they had seen each other. When they had seen each other at the Chandler double thing she didnt really look at the taller blonde woman. She looked a little pudgy round the middle.

Phoebe opened her eyes. She looked at Scully who had by now lowered her weapon.
"Oh my god!" Phoebe said excitingly. "It worked."
"What worked Phoebe?" Scully said as she helped Phoebe get up. She had been sitting in that position for hours and her legs were very dead. Phoebe stumbled over to a chair and sat down while she waited for her legs to revive themselves.
"I was trying something. Every since you removed that thing I've had that pyschic powers come and go. And today I felt very receptive, especially with my baby."
"Your baby?" Scully said staring at Phoebes pudgy midsection.
"I'm carrying my brothers baby for him and his wife. Shes a lot older than him, older than you even."
"Thanks." Scully said. "I think."
"Anyway I thought about contacting someone with my mind and bringing them here. I have been sitting here for a couple of hours thinking of someone to contact and I thought of you."
"But Phoebe what if you miss and bring in someone else?"
"All the better I suppose. But you only came became we have something in common. Something tells me you are worried about me because you been sick lately. Right?"
"Right." Scully said. "When I removed the implant I got cancer that was supposedly incurable but it mysteriously went into remission last year. Phoebe, you are also the last remaining person I know that was abducted like me."
"And you think I might have this same cancer?" Phoebe asked. "How can that be? My friends call me totally spiritual chick."
"I don't know." Scully said. "We have to find a way to test you and not harm your baby. ARe you willing to come with me?" Scully asked.
"Okay." Phoebe said. "But I'm doing this cause I like you."
Scully smiled as she led Phoebe outside and down the stairs to her car.

The Hospital

Scully and Phoebe went to the hospital. They went up to the front desk and Scully flashed a badge.
"Hi I am Agent Scully from the Federal Bureau of Investigations." Scully saw the attending nurse tense up immediately after the badge was shown. "Relax. Youre not in any trouble."
After the nurse took a long sigh of relief. "May I help you agent Scully?"
"Yes, this young woman needs to be examined for something in her nasal geological section of her nose." Scully said pointing to Phoebe who sat and hummed. "I found her dazed and confused in Central Park and she is not well. I was wondering if I could use the appropriate examinging equipment? I need to use something that will not harm the fetus inside her if thats at all possible."
"All right." The nurse came from the behind the desk. "Follow me."
"That was easy." Phoebe said as they were lead to an examining room. "I ought to get a badge."
Scully smiled as the nurse left them alone.
"Since I am also a non-practicing doctor I have a resonable knowledge of how this cat scan will work." Scully said grabbing something for Phoebe to change into. "Change into this. This will protect your baby and stop any pervs from looking into the room while we're here."
"Okay."
Phoebe changed into the outfit and waited. Scully brought her over to the cat scanner and had her lay down. Scully then went into a little room to work the controls for the scanner. Scully turned the machine and watch it run its light scanner over Phoebes head.
"It tickles." Phoebe said.
"Please don't talk." Scully said as she continued to scan Phoebes head. Phoebe hushed up. After a long wait Scully was examining the results. Sculy had been wearing glasses as she read them. She took then off and sighed. She got up and went into the door of the cat scan room. Phoebe sat up and looked at Scully. Scully took Phoebes hands.
"You're gonna be all right." She said.
Phoebe smiled and hugged Scully tight.
"Thank you."
"Its no problem. We're in this together." Scully said as Phoebe redressed. They went out the hospital front door hoping not to ever return.
