It was almost time to leave. Everything was packed into the Monkeemobile and ready to go. All that was left was the goodbyes. The Monkees were going on a fall tour of the coast and would be gone for a month or two. The girls, Chea, Brianna, Karen and Livvie would be alone.
"And bored." Chea whined. "We still have to find new jobs."
"Yeah." Karen said. Karen is Mikes wife. "What will we do with ourselves?"
"Well...you can always go out and rake the beach." Micky joked.
The girls looked out into the miles long sand beach that extended for miles on end.
"Nah." They unanimously shook their heads.
"Well heres a suggestion." Peter said. He pointed out to the driveway. There was a blue and white caddy in the parking lot. The girls reacted with shock. Karen was the least shocked of all. They live on tv, this kind of thing happens in a "fictional world".
"Where did this come from?" Livvie asked Peter. "And dont you dare say it followed you home."
"You guys have been here three years." Mike said. "Its time for a car of your own."
"Is this because I backed over a mailbox?" Livvie asked. The girls had been using the Monkeemobile to train her how to drive a car.
"Partly." Davy said. "I was getting me mail at the time!"
"Sorry." Livvie blushed.
"So now if you guys want to go to the movies, you can." Micky said. "And look." He slapped open the glovebox. "It has the time gadget in there in case you want to go anywhere. It is powerful enough to take the whole car and anyoen in it.
"It's a car as big as a whale!" Chea sang.
"And we're about to set sail." Micky joined in. They both sang "Whooo!"
"I never liked the B-52's." Brianna shook her head.
Mike walked up to Karen. "Will miss ya."
"I will too." Karen said. "But I can't till you are gone!" She said playfully pushing him to the car. "Come on. Before it gets dark."
"Yes Momma Kar." Micky hugged Chea tightly. "Oh babe I wish I could take you with me."
"I wish I could, but where would Davy ride?" Chea laughed.
"In the trunk." Micky winked.
"Hey!" Davy bristled slightly. "It's cause I'm short, I know."
After a few more minutes of goodbyes, the guys finally got into the car and left. With heavy hearts, the girls sat inside their anniversay present.
"I can't believe its been three years." Chea said.
"Correction." Livvie said. "Three for you and Karen, and Bri." She said. "Only about two for me. I came a year or so later."
"Shes right." Brianna said.
"Yeah." Karen said. "So much has gone on in the real world. Our old world is so different." She said frowning slightly. "They are going through things we aren't."
"I know." Chea said.
The girls sat in the car a moment.
"I'm bored." Chea said.
"Me too." Livvie agreed.
"What do we do?" Karen asked. The girls gave it a moment of thought.
"Road trip!" Chea said. "Let's take the old boat for a spin."
"Ok but where?" Karen said picking up a post card. "Why dont we go visit the manor?"
"But they moved!" Brianna said. "See?"
"I guess we have to find them. I can't wait to see the guys again." Karen said. "And they never did meet Livvie."
"I'm sorry but hearing about so many clones freaked me out." Livvie confessed. "And living with you lot is crazy enough." She continued. "But you are better now."
The girls got out of the car. "Okay, we need to get money and clothes, and a map. Lord knows where we will end once we end back up in the manor universe."
"Unpredicatability is kinda fun. After all, its what brought us here." Chea reminded Karen. She nodded. They quickly packed and brought as much food as they dared. They packed the new car, which could have taken another whole familys worth of stuff, and headed on out just before the sun set. Karen set the the address for the old manor in the time gadget.
"They can't have gotten far." Karen reason. She held her finger above the activation button. "Ready? Three, two one!" She hit the button, and in a flash, they were gone.
