Road Trip!:Uh oh!!

Brianna was sitting in the middle of a small empty house. According to the note she found on the front door, this was their part of the new and improved Monkee Manor, and it was theres to use whenever they visit. She had stacks of magazines and web site urls to use at her disposal, but she had a problem: everyone had varying ideas of what to put in the house. All day the girls came up with ideas and lists for her to go over. After recieving the umpteenth revision of Karens vision for her and Mikes bedrooms, Brianna put her foot down.

"I will decorate the living room first, since this is what we will see when we come in." Brianna told her three listeners once they came in from meeting some of the newer clones. "But you are responsible for your own rooms. Pick out your own style and then I will see what I can do about you and I working on it together." Brianna said. "I have my room all ready to work on."
"What do we do?" Chea asked.
"Figure out what you want your room to look like. I have like three tons of Martha Stewart paint to get." Brianna said. "Good thing the K-mart is only a block away." Brianna picked up her purse and walked out the door. She then walked back in. "Then again it might be smarter to use the car."
"What if we need the car?" Karen asked. "What if something were to happen?"
"What makes you think something will happen?" Chea asked.
"When your around something always happens!" Karen smiled. "Its pretty much a guarentee around here." Chea nodded in agreement.
Chea whipped out her time gadget. "I know what I can do." She motioned outside. The girls looked aroundonce they got outside
"Big deal, whole lotta nothing." Brianna said while staring at the one they called Tornado. He seemed to be strumming an old guitar under a tree. Chea finished some last minute calculations on the gadget and pressed the button. A large flash of light popped in front of their eyes. The girls hid their eyes. After the after effects of seeing such a bright light passed, they saw what Chea had brought to them. Tornado barely looked up during the whole event.
"Its my Sidekick!" Brianna yelped with joy. She ran over and inspected. "It still has my Supertramp tape in the player! But wait..."
"I know I thought we sold it?" Karen asked. "Or was it a rental car?" She thought. "I don't think the company ever bothered to look for it."
"I don't remember what we did with it." Chea said. "We went for a ride and went home." She shrugged.
"And hey the best part is that I don't have to put gas in it, it still has a full tank." Brianna popped into her car. "I'm off to get that paint now. What are you guys going to do?"
"We could try to put that clone device into the house." Karen said. "We need to get it out of clone kids hands."
"Good idea." Livvie said. "And we have my Cosmos to bring in." She said with a big smile on her face.
"I think shes been spending a little too much time with Burt Reynolds." Brianna whispered.
"Have not!" Livvie argued. "Oh my god, I am turning into one of you."
Chea laughed. "I knew this would happen one day. Enough time with the crazy trio and you get to be like us."
Livvie shrugged. "I'll have to get used to it."
Chea hugged Livvie with a smile. Brianna started up the tracker.
"Make lunch, I'm starving." Karen said.
"But we just ate an hour ago." Livvie said. Livvie shook her head. She leaned toward Chea. "I don't know what to think or what she wants us to think but she will tell us what to think in a while, I think."
"Thats good, and huh?" Chea asked. Livvie shook her head.
"Never mind." Livvie sighed.
"Let me make you guys some of my famous grilled cheese sandwiches." Karen volunteered.
A few minutes later Karen came out to fetch the girls.
"I'm almost ready. Just tell me how burnt you want them." She said.
"How about not at all?" Che asked as she helped Livvie finish moving the machine. There was a button on it that made it compact enough to move. Chea hit the same button again and it rose to its full height. It seemed to be about 7 feet tall and 4 feet wide. It was brown laquer in color and had a glass door on the front of it. For a minute visions of Keanu Reeves and the movie Bill and Teds Excellant adventure danced through Cheas head.
"What are you guys doing?" Karen asked. A smoke alarm went off. "Uh oh, looks like we are having bar b que cheese sandwiches. Be right back."
Chea laughed and shook her head. "This is why her sandwiches are famous, she seems to lose track of how long they cook lately."
"Distracted?" Livvie said. "There can only be one possible reason for that."
"Whats that?" Chea asked. Before Livvie could answer Karen came back into the room with a green platter with dark brown sandwiches on them.
"I saved them just in time." Karen said. "Did I miss anything?"
Chea looked at Livvie. She shook her head. "Not much. We were thinking of giving the old machine a test drive."
"Oh no, not after promising the others we wouldnt muck around with it." Karen said. Cheas face fell a little bit. "Something could go wrong."
"What could go wrong?" Chea smiled.
"I feel a lot of de ja vu here." Karen sighed. "I had that same feeling when we first worked the time gadget."
"And look what wonderful friends we have." Chea indicating Livvie.
Karen thought about for a while. They hadnt had a clone since the other one ran off on them. She rolled her eyes. "Ok just one." She relented.
Chea gave a yelp of joy and grabbed Livvies new found treasure of Cosmopolitan magazines. It was a mixture of decades, the latest one being 2002. Livvie grabbed the one with Burt Reynolds in it. Karen and Chea looked at each other and chuckled. Chea got the feeling they would have to pull that one out of her cold dead hands.
"Here we go." Chea said hitting a button. "Process clonimation data. It must want the magazines." She dumped them in all at once. Karen shook her head and held her hands out.
"One at a time!" She shouted. The machine began to whir and hum and make a screechy noise, not unlike a Mariah Carey song. It then began to bounce around like a washer machine out of control. It moved toward Livvie who jumped out of the way. It then began to smoke and short circuit. After a minute or so of this noise it stopped coold. A small explosion took place at the back. A black and red part fell out and rolled around on the floor. It stopped.
"That must be the engine." Chea said. "Its hot, I can feel it from here!"
"I guess this is the end of the second clone machine." Karen said. "Sorry."
Just as the now seemingly defunct clone machine had started to settle down, a small alarm sounded from Cheas time gadget.
"Whats that?" Livvie asked.
"I don't know." Chea said inspecting it. "It says here that we made three new clones. But we couldnt have, they didnt come out the door."
"Let me see that." Karen said grabbing the gadget. "According to this new radar we put in, they are all over the place. The malfunctions in the machine must have blown them to these other places."
"My god, what have we done?" Livvie murmured.
"Nothing we can't undo. We to go find these clones. The gadget here has a fixed target on all of them. We must bring them back here before the world at large discovers we have a time gadget and a clone machine." Karen said.
"They could take over the world!" Chea said in a bad german accent. "Sorry, but still it wouldnt be good."
The girls grabbed their coats and ran out the door to their new car. They passed Brianna on the way out.
"Hey arent you gonna help me with these paint cans?" Brianna called out.
"Ask a few Davy clones to help you!" Livvie hollered.
"We can't stop to explain." Chea said as she started the car. "But something happened and we have to fix it now."
"Oh ok." Brianna said still clueless.
"See you later, if possible!" Karen called out.
"Wait!" Brianna called out. "Why wouldnt it be possible to see you later?" She continued. "Guys?" She watched them go down the road. "Never a dull moment with those three."
