Latex Penguin is part of a soon to be released compilation CD of self titled songs, called "Hello, My Name Is..." Other bands on the album include the Dance Hall Crashers, the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Punch the Clown, Let's Go Bowling and others. The album is due to be released on February 3. Alrighty, then. Here's a little bit about the band you know and
love, Latex Penguin. We're a
bunch of high school students from Cincinnati. We all go to
Walnut Hills H.S., with the exception of Andrew, who goes to
Moeller (everyone has their flaws), Brian, who goes somewhere, I assume, I just don't know where, and myself (now an ALUMN of
the 'Nut). We won the 1997 Bogart's High School Band Challenge, and some
folks around Cincinnati are actually getting to know who we are.
Our music evades definition. We call ourselves jazz-rock- funkskapunk, because our music is just that. A wonderful melting pot of musical creativity.
The band consists of:

Baritone sax
Nathan "Shut up, Bennett" Heilman: Alto
sax (and occasionally, very occasionally, guitar)
Ben "Mofro" Lindy: Keyboards, food,

Bennett "Hi, I'm Flea" Miller: Bass
Chris "Wait... uh... did we have practice?"
Morgan-Riess: Vocals, and trumpet
Danny "you're fired" Royce: Percussion
Lauren "Yes, I can beat you up"
Woode: trumpet
Andrew "I have an amp bigger than my
car" McKeown: guitar
Brian "Weedwhacker" Wietmarschen: trombone, really wierd last name
We basically never get along, we're all jerks at practice, but, it works out in the end.
