Chart Commentary... Surprise, surprise. Janet's "All For You" holds at #1 for yet another week keeping Destiny's Child at #2 for a third straight week. I've just got the "All For You" mixes this week and the DJ Quik remix has been getting the most attention, thus helping the song maintain a strong lead over "Survivor".
Janet's new album is out this week and I feel obligated to recommend it to everyone out there because it is just incredibly good. On "All For You" she combines the emotion and honesty of "The Velvet Rope" with the dance grooves of "Rhythm Nation 1814" and the sensuality of "janet.". The album is just solid from the beginning to the end. My personal favorites are "Someone To Call My Lover", "Son Of A Gun (Betcha Think This Song Is About You)", "Come On Get Up", "Trust A Try" and "Feels So Right". Expect tons of hits from this album for the next year and a half or so.
This week's greatest gainer is "Lady Marmalade" by Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya & Pink. The track jumps 21-11 and is the greatest gainer for the second week in a row.
New entries this week include Madonna's "What It Feels Like For A Girl", the third single from her "Music" album, and Jessica Simpson's "Irrisistable", the first single from her still untitled second album due out in June.
