RACING TO THE TOP... While Ricky Martin holds firmly at no. 1 for a third consecutive week, hits by Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Shania Twain, Will Smith and Jennifer Lopez threaten to take over very soon. These songs have been jumping up impressively in the last weeks and will have to struggle very soon to achieve a no. 1 position with all the competition going on. We'll have to wait and see who unseats Ricky.

ALMOST DOES COUNT... Brandy scores this week the fourth top 10 single from her multi-platinum album "Never Say Never". The first single, "The Boy Is Mine" with Monica, peaked at no. 1 for three weeks, then "Top Of The World" f/ Mase stalled at no. 10 and most recently, "Have You Ever?" peaked at no. 1 for three weeks.

NEW ENTRIES. Cher is back with the follow up to "Believe". "Strong Enough" is this week's highest debut at no. 33. The first solo single by ex-Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell, is also new at no. 39, while "Rollercoaster" by B*Witched rounds up the top 40.
