FINALLY!... TLC scores yet another no. 1 single with "Unpretty" after being held at no. 2 by Christina Aguilera for 4 weeks. This is the group's second no. 1 single this year after the incredible 9 week run on top of "No Scrubs". The song is still charting in the top 40 and is now the second longest running single ever. "No Scrubs" needs to hang around 10 more weeks in order to beat Britney Spears' "...Baby One More Time".
GREATEST GAINERS... This week's greatest gainer is "Heartbreaker" by Mariah Carey. Mariah scores in a mere 3 weeks yet another top 10 single and by the way its climbing, a third no. 1 single is possible. In second place comes "(You Drive Me) Crazy", another future contender for the no. 1 position and maybe Britney's third consecutive chart-topper. It'll be interesting to see if Mariah, the veteran, will eventually prevent Britney from achieving this. The third greatest gainer is "Mambo No. 5" by Lou Bega.
