DAVID DUCHOVNY has gone into therapy in a bid to fight the dark clouds which loom over him. The star of THE X-FILES feels better after each session, insisting therapy is helping him "gain some greater self- awareness". He says, "I don't suffer from extreme highs or lows, but I have a natural tendency to feel down and depressed even though I try to pretend that everything's OK. That's not a very satisfying way to live, and I don't want to bring other people down to my grim level. "But somewhere along the way in life I lost my capacity to experience pure joy. It's not the worst thing in the world, but it doesn't make you the life of the party either."

X-FILES star GILLIAN ANDERSON has revealed it was her four-year- old daughter's conception in Hawaii that decided her name - coupled with the bizarre sounds she made. The father of PIPER MARU is X-FILES art director CLYDE KLOTZ, who she has since divorced. Anderson says, "We named her Maru because she was conceived in Hawaii and her father lived in Tahiti for a year." "Then she made this squeak that I have never heard a baby make before, it was almost a high pitched nasal squeak, like the sound of a pipe."

GILLIAN ANDERSON is happy for internet freaks to deal in fake pornographic pictures of her - as long as the body used is gorgeous. The image of the X-FILES star has been doctored and plastered all over the world - and she's happy for fans to think she's a lot sexier than she really is. She says, "They put my head on women with fabulous looking breasts - I'm not going to complain. "If they were real pictures of me naked that were unbecoming then I'd have to do something about it". And Anderson would quite like to pose naked for real - just to prove she's not as good-looking as people think. She adds, "Part of me wants to do a naked scene that isn't disguised by lighting and make-up. Just my body as it is. I'm disappointingly ordinary, just like anyone else."

GILLIAN ANDERSON is too rich and famous to get a man. The red headed actress who plays DANA SCULLY in the hit TV show believes that lovers are so uncomfortable with her fame that they soon becomes exes. The 29-year-old actress says, "I keep losing the chance of any relationship developing into something special. "Some men find it difficult to be with someone who is well known where they're not the breadwinner. "When a relationship is at an early stage we are photographed together at a point where it might just be a casual date." "Suddenly we're a couple. This can kill a friendship before it has a chance to develop. I've been forced to give up situations that might have worked, given some privacy."

DAVID DUCHOVNY had an accident that changed the way he looked when he was 17 - but it only bothered him when he became an actor. Duchovny was standing in a lift when he fainted, hit the ground and knocked out one of his teeth - leaving another chipped in half, and one twisted sideways. Eventually he lost his top four middle teeth. Duchovny says, "I went, gee, I kind of wish I had my teeth. Just because they get so big up there on the screen, and sometimes I'm thinking people are looking and thinking they're phoney."

DAVID DUCHOVNY refuses to appear at THE X-FILES fan conventions - but he doesn't have a problem with GILLIAN ANDERSON doing them. Anderson has only recently showed up in person for their fans, but AGENT MULDER still won't do it. Duchovny says, "There's a certain merchandising aspect about it that I don't like. "I'm not saying I'm Mr Integrity - I do my share of whorish things. "And I'm not saying that conventions are shamelessly ripping people off. But I didn't want to be involved in it."

GILLIAN ANDERSON has revealed that DAVID DUCHOVNY hasn't got what it takes to interest her - motherhood is her driving passion. PIPER, her four year old daughter from her brief marriage to X- Files Art Director CLYD KLOTZ, is the centre of her life. Anderson, who plays Scully in the hit series, says, "She's my priority and I'm constantly amazed at what a wonderful human being she's turning out to be." X-FILES creator CHRIS CARTER is urging his screen fright peers to stop spoiling the fun by showing off their grisly creations. The movie maker has lashed out at the makers of ALIEN RESURRECTION for spoiling all the scary moments that were originally so striking in the original movie ALIEN. And Carter feels his peers could learn a lot from him through his notion that movie fans are more scared of what they can't see than what they can see. He says, "Look at the alien in the new X-Files movie - you really don't get a good look at it and it's scarier for it. "I was very disappointed with the latest Aliens film because I love them films and yet the alien is no longer this shadowy thing that scares the hell out of you - the Alien 4 movie had so many aliens you became tired of them."

The sound of the alien in the new X-FILES movie will terrify all moviegoers, but to director ROB BOWMAN it's just a gorilla growling. The movie maker tried all kinds of audio tricks to make sure the sound of the alien was as frightening as possible - but ended up with the war cry of a silver-backed gorilla. He explains, "I wanted the sound to bother the filmgoer, a sound that will evoke power, of something that will kill you. "I'm told it works and there's this overwhelming sense of what would happen if you were out at night and you heard that growl behind you, you'd think I'm down to my last minute here. "I mean I don't know what aliens sound like. To me it's just the sound of a sampled gorilla."

X-FILES creator CHRIS CARTER is getting to grips with working in Los Angeles after five years of filming in Vancouver, Canada. The mogul was forced to change location when important members of his cast and crew explained they hated being so far away from home in America so much. But, though he's missing Canada he's beginning to use his new surroundings positively. He says, "The climate in Vancouver allowed me to keep a dark feel - it's usually a very low-grade light most of the year and the landscape was such that you had a wonderful array of locations to shoot very close to the city. "Now we have a concrete jungle here but we also have a desert location and we didn't have that. We have seashore with surf so there are other things to use here that we didn't have up there and I plan to use them to my advantage."

X-Files ended its fifth season on Sunday with a cliffhanger "The End" (No.7 - 18 mln. watchers), but a real-life cliffhanger is brewing: whether or not series creator and executive producer Chris Carter will return for a sixth season. Carter had previously announced that he would leave the show after season five and completion of "The X-Files" feature film, which opens June 19. But money talks in most cases and Carter is currently negotiating with the series' producers, Twentieth Century Fox Television. Fox will repeat five key episodes of the show beginning May 24 in order to acquaint potential moviegoers with the 'mythology' of the series.

DAVID DUCHOVNY isn't the kind of guy to give up easily - he asked wife TEA LEONI to marry him hundreds of times before they headed up the aisle. THE X-FILES star was so smitten by the blonde actress he couldn't resist asking her to marry him every day for an entire year. But it wasn't until last May, that he took her replies seriously and whisked her up the aisle. Duchovny says, "I used to ask her 10 to 15 times a day. I just liked asking. She'd always say yes." And even now they're married, Duchovny hasn't given up asking. He says, "I like it so much. She hasn't turned me down once."

GILLIAN ANDERSON cannot stand watching her show THE X FILES - because it scares her. The small screen stunner is taking her sci-fi adventure to the big screen with X-FILES THE MOVIE. But Anderson will not be watching herself at her big premiere and avoids the series at all costs because it is too creepy. She says, "The tricky aspect of working on the show is the darkness. We are dealing with serial killers and insane people every day and it is hard to shake that off. "I went though a very difficult period three years ago when I was pregnant because a woman's hormones are changing, she becomes more sensitive to exterior input."

GILLIAN ANDERSON is fed up with all the gossip pages that link her with her THE X FILES co-star DAVID DUCHOVNY. The American actress was relieved when the hunk married TV beauty TEA LEONI because she thought the rumours would stop. But they are still out there, which annoys Anderson. She says, "We're not close. Once in a while we find ourselves in intimate conversation, but we don't visit each other at the weekend."

DAVID DUCHOVNY is determined to keep his feet on the ground since his show THE X FILES moved to Los Angeles. The Malibu, California, citizen is delighted work is round the corner for him rather than having to make the trek to Vancouver, Canada, where filming took place for the past four years. THE X FILES star DAVID DUCHOVNY has won a $400,000 settlement from fraudsters who claimed they were selling his autograph. Duchovny took the New York company JP PRODUCTIONS to court after seeing an advertisement for their autographed photos of himself at $75. He says, "I would never sell autographs to fans."

X-FILES: THE MOVIE narrowly avoided the axe before it was finished. While DAVID DUCHOVNY and GILLIAN ANDERSON were filming the special effects-packed film version of their hit TV series, studio bosses at 20TH CENTURY FOX were having a drastic cash-flow problem. X-Files creator CHRIS CARTER explains, "Because of the not so hot returns of SPEED 2, VOLCANO and also TITANIC running over budget, we didn't know whether we were going to actually make this movie until 10 minutes before the deadline."

"I adore watching David because he's so quietly riveting. And he's funny. I'd love for him to pull the X-Files in a comedy direction."

The X-FILES co-stars agreed to strip down to their underwear and then jump into bed for the cover of ROLLING STONE magazine. Anderson is shown draped over Duchovny with a sheet hiding both their blushes. Anderson told an X-Files conference, "I had my naked breasts on his naked chest. "But he had silky black boxer shorts on and I had my knickers."

GILLIAN ANDERSON is getting bored with the sci- fi show which launched her career. Anderson, who plays sceptical FBI agent DANA SCULLY in the series, complains that after five years there's little left for her or co-star DAVID DUCHOVNY to investigate. She says, "Nothing joyful every happens on the show. I mean, `Yah, we found another alien!' There's no celebration in that."

GILLIAN ANDERSON reckons she's a bit of a strange phenomenon herself. The fiery redhead, who plays FBI agent DANA SCULLY in the hit sci-fi series, admits she often finds herself subconsciously drifting off into outerspace. She says, "Between shots on the set, I'll sit down and go to a place in my mind that has no thought. I'm an odd bird. I get into very melancholy places and then I turn into a complete goofball." One thing the mom-of-one is sure about is turning 30 in August. But she's refusing to get depressed about it and is even planning a birthday bash to celebrate. She says, "I would like to have a small birthday party in Los Angeles for my closest friends. "I've been waiting to be 30 all my life. It represents a certain level of maturity. I guess this year is about determining whether I fit that or not. But I'm excited - it feels like it's going to be a good thing."

DAVID DUCHOVNY shot to fame in the X-FILES - but the woman who became his wife didn't like what she saw at first. But when TEA LEONI started dating Duchovny, the DEEP IMPACT actress thought she better make an effort to show just a little interest in the hit supernatural show. She says, "It was damned well near love at second sight. I had not watched the X-Files at all, but from what I'd heard it did not make much sense. Two FBI agents as attractive as GILLIAN ANDERSON and David, working side by side every day, and they hadn't even kissed? I did not buy that. "Also, just how many aliens are there out there, for goodness sake? But when he asked me out, I thought I had better watch the show so I could try to be intelligent at dinner about his life."

DAVID DUCHOVNY didn't realise how famous he had become - until passengers blamed him for air emergencies. Duchovny is celebrating the fact that he will no longer have to fly back and forth from Los Angeles to Vancouver to film the hit sci-fi programme - because he gets nervous whenever he flies. He says, "Whenever I used to get on a plane in LA that had a celebrity on it, I was happy. Because I thought that was the charm. Then I realised I had become the charm - for other people. "I wasn't as happy about that. Because if the plane started to go down, they'd all give me looks. "I feel safe on big planes, because I have this feeling that it's a cooperative act that keeps the plane aloft. Everybody has to concentrate."

DAVID DUCHOVNY has decided his series THE X-FILES attracts the same obsessive behaviour as THE BEATLES did in their heyday. The American actor, who plays AGENT MULDER in the hit television series and soon-to-be released movie, identifies most with JOHN LENNON. Duchovny says, "It's very similar in the intensity of our fans, emotionally, especially as the end of the show becomes inevitable." But the capricious star adds, "I want a disclaimer there. I'm so uncomfortable with the Beatles thing. It's just the kind of thing people love to get angry about. I never want to be quoted as saying we're like the Beatles."

DAVID DUCHOVNY is to take a new role behind the camera - directing music videos. The actor, who plays AGENT MULDER in the hit television series and soon-to-be released movie, has been impressed by the music on the film soundtrack which includes FOO FIGHTERS, FILTER, TONIC, X and WEEN. He says, "I may be directing a video for the movie. We'll see. Maybe the Foo Fighters. I don't know. I wouldn't know what the hell I'm doing."

DAVID DUCHOVNY is going to get a telling off from producers of the long-awaited X-FILES movie after giving away the plot. In an interview in the upcoming (JUN98) edition of VANITY FAIR magazine, Duchovny reveals, "There seems to be some sort of colonisation plan by an alien force. Certain shadow governments across the world have been in cahoots with these invaders." He says the aliens promise their secret collaborators that, after the take-over, they will oversee their fellow humans. But some liberal-minded aliens come to Earth to warn certain other people that the invaders aren't going to hold their end of the bargain and are "planning to exterminate or enslave everybody". But Duchovny, who appears on Vanity Fair's cover covered in dead flies, cannot always be trusted to reveal the truth is really out there.

Hollywood couple TEA LEONI and DAVID DUCHOVNY were apart on their first wedding anniversary on May 6th - so they celebrated via fax. Leoni was in Paris promoting her new movie DEEP IMPACT, while THE X-FILES star Duchovny was working in New York. But the celebrity couple aim to make up for their time apart when Leoni returns home on May 8th. She says, "It's oh so romantic. It was as interesting a time as we could get over a fax machine. "I don't know what our plans for a celebration might be. I'm really looking forward to seeing David again. "He's been in Vancouver making THE X-FILES for so long, so it'll be great to have him home in Los Angeles now that the series is moving there."

DAVID DUCHOVNY's wife TEA LEONI has been badgered by fans anxious to know what happens in the forthcoming full-length movie - but giving the plot away could land her in serious trouble. The DEEP IMPACT star was told the plot by her husband, who plays FOX MULDER, and she has to keep quiet about it until the movie is released later this year. She says, "Yes, I know what the movie is about, but I can't tell you. Imagine the wrath if I did." Leoni insists even her husband wasn't trusted by the security- conscious movie producers - even though he's one of the film's major stars. She admits, "With a very secret project like this, a number is stamped across the script's pages. That way they know who leaked it. "And David's script has a number on it. When I saw that, I thought, `Wow, this is paranoia.'"

DAVID DUCHOVNY is making sure the truth is not out there when it comes to the X FILES movie plot. The hunky American actor, who plays Agent FOX MULDER in the hit series, is spinning up stories about the super-secret storyline in a bid to throw people off the scent. Duchovny says, "What happens is that Scully gets a gift of that book THE RULES from her mother. "She reads it, and then she gives Mulder a copy of MEN ARE FROM MARS, WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS and the rest of the movie plays out like MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING with stunts and without RUPERT EVERETT." He adds, "CHRIS CARTER, the creator, is gonna kill me for telling you this, but in the last scene, Mulder and Scully are in bed together. "She's reading THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, he's reading THE HORSE WHISPERER and they are both weeping because of the profundity of those masterworks. "I'm getting a little choked up just talking about it."

DAVID DUCHOVNY wants a part for actress wife TEA LEONI in the hit television series. The actress has lost her own show THE NAKED TRUTH. And now X-Files chiefs have turned her down because they reckon she's comedy star, reports British tabloid the DAILY STAR.

THE MIGHTY received a very special out-of-competition screening at The Cannes Film Festival (May 21).

Gillian made a rare public appearance at the New York X-FILES EXPO, Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10. Ticket prices were $40 for general admission, and a limited number of reserved seats werw available for $65.  On Saturday, Gillian was on stage from 5 p.m.- 6 p.m. and signed autographs from 6-7:30 p.m. On Sunday, Gillian was on stage from 6-7 p.m. and signed autographs from 7 - 8 p.m.

DePaul University's prestigious Goodman Theater School, awarded Gillian an 'Excellence in Arts' award, May 8, 1998. Ms. Anderson was joined by William Petersen, Edward James Olmos and Ray Liotta, among other honorees for the event.

Gillian Anderson is in cover of Finnish "Katso!" magazine. There was one and half page long writing about Gillian as well - there wasn't anything which we don't know before. Heading "X-mimmi Gillian Anderson on Scullya hullumpi" which translates to something like: "X-chick Gillian Anderson is crazier than Scully".

DAVID DUCHOVNY seized the chance to say "Goodbye" to his Vancouver fans when the final show of the current series was filmed in the Canadian city Over 10,000 fans were given a sneak preview of the hit show's finale when they played extras at Vancouver's GM PLACE on April 21st - in the roles of the audience at a chess match In the filmed sequence a 12-year-old boy prodigy called GIBSON goes pawn to pawn with a Russian chess master at an international tournament. The boy is winning, thanks in no part to his extra-sensory perception, but at checkmate he looks into the crowd and suddenly pushes back his chair. A shot rings out and the Russian falls dead. The crowd screams and Mounties and special agents rush into protect the boy. The AGENT FOX MULDER actor didn't appear in the final scenes but he took the stage before filming to thank his fans for their support and take part in a short question and answer session. Duchovny said, "Thank you all for coming, I don't know what to say. We'll always think fondly of Vancouver."

Anderson lives in California as well, she did not want to say goodbye to crew members who have worked on the show for five series. Anderson says, "It is a big episode with lots of locals serving as extras so it is even more sad." While Anderson and her other team-mates are hosting a charity fundraiser to say "thank you" to the town, Duchovny is already packing his bags. He says, "I can't wait to get home and have a honeymoon with my wife. A year too late." The season finale which marks the end of the Canadian legacy airs in America next month (17MAY98).

Producers of THE X-FILES are saying "thank-you" in a special way to their fans in Vancouver before the show leaves for its new location next season in Los Angeles. They've sent out an SOS to fans to turn up at the Canadian city's GM PLACE next Tuesday (04.21) when scenes for the final show of the current series is filmed. Creator CHRIS CARTER and the crew want thousands of fans to fill the arena. The extras will provide the audience for a scene in which a murder is committed during an international chess tournament. And, each extra will be given a ticket in a draw for prizes with the winner receiving an all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles to visit the show's new set next year.

GILLIAN ANDERSON has no intention of leaving her beloved home in Vancouver - despite her hit TV show THE X-FILES leaving the Canadian city for Los Angeles. Anderson bought her dream house in Vancouver so she had somewhere to stay while shooting the spooky sci-fi series. Now, after five years, The X-Files is relocating to Los Angeles. But Anderson wants to keep her dream house after falling in love with Vancouver. She says, "I'm constantly overwhelmed in the morning on my way to work as I go over the Lion's Gate Bridge. "My breath is just drawn from me on so many occasions, in so many different ways. It's a beautiful, beautiful city. I will always have a very, very close connection and very fond memories of this place."

Well, it seems that the pay row between David and Gillian still isn't over. A while ago, DD and GA both renegotiated their contracts and were BOTH given $100,000 per episode which is perfectly fine. However, recently, DD was given a $10,000 raise which GA didn't get for some strange reason. Now this is just my opinion, but I think that GA is a better actor than DD and I don't see why she shouldn't have got a raise as well. Maybe we should start a protest ?

DAVID DUCHOVNY overheated after a steamy sex session with wife TEA LEONI in a sauna. And the passionate pair fell ill after their torrid experience. Tea admits, "I was shaking and dehydrated afterwards. We were ill for about 24 hours. How stupid is that?" Leoni, star of the American comedy show THE NAKED TRUTH, also reveals she has better orgasms because she is so confident about her husband's love. She says, "Monogamy is a powerful thing. I think the intimacy gives you greater Os."

The case of X-FILES character FOX MULDER'S wedding ring has been solved by the man who knows him best - the man who plays him. The ring was seen in the flashback episode TRAVELLERS which takes place in 1990. In the episode, DARRIN MCGAVIN starred as retired FBI agent ARTHUR DALES. Dales helps Mulder, played by DAVID DUCHOVNY, close the first X-File, a case from the 1950s. During Mulder's interviewing of Dales, the wedding ring is prominently displayed. In one scene, Mulder was also caught smoking. Duchovny admits to being the culprit. He says, "I just wanted to have Mulder be married years ago and never have referred to it. It wasn't a mistake. The hairdo, the ring and the smoking - it was all part of a plan." The wedding ring ignited intense debate on the internet as fans tried to work out whether the band, seen in the flashback episode, was a continuity error or not. Although the case of the errant continuity error can be closed, fans shouldn't get too excited about learning more about Mulder's pre-X-Files life. Duchovny says, "It's all just stuff in case we ever do a show when I'm, like, 60, and they want to time-travel back to 1990."

"After five seasons of producing The X-Files in Vancouver, Twentieth Century Fox Television has reached a decision to move series production to Southern California beginning with the show's sixth season. Vancouver has been home to The X-Files for five years, and the support of the city and the superlative work of the film community have been invaluable to the show's incredible success. The X-Files' critical acclaim, enormous popularity and countless awards are nothing less than a testament to the city and its production community. Our decision was not an easy one, but after five years of dividing the show's writing, production and post-production between Los Angeles and Vancouver, we as a studio chose to unite the three elements in Southern California. There is no doubt that the success we found in producing The X-Files in Vancouver has led us to develop other projects to be produced in the city, and as a company we look forward to continuing our long and successful relationship with the city of Vancouver for many years -- and many series - to come."

The X-Files is definitely going to move to LA after all! On Monday, FOX will officially release a press release confirming the move because they didn't want to publically announce it until the cast and crew had been told (they were told on Friday by phone). And now for the even worse news! Ready, ok. Many of the behind the scenes people will be left behind in Vancouver leaving them without jobs! Also, I was reading in the magazine, Xposé that all three Lone Gunmen will not be moving to LA if the show does move because they have found a home in VA and don't want to! This all seems like a really bad decision seeing how the spooky image of the show will suffer and the price of each episode will shoot up to $4.5 million!

Unlucky in love GILLIAN ANDERSON has rushed back into the arms of ex-boyfriend DARREN WATERSTONE. The 29-year-old redhead ditched current boyfriend RODNEY ROWLAND, 33, after a holiday in Bali turned into a nightmare of arguments. A friend of the star says, "Poor Rodney was half expecting to hear wedding bells after the trip. Instead he was just left with a ringing in his ears for all the rows he had with Gillian." Anderson began dating Waterstone, 31, last year (97) after a string of flings following her split from husband CLYDE KLOTZ, the father of her daughter PIPER. The star also dated British-born actor ADRIAN HUGHES, whom she dumped after he was accused of several sexual assaults. She has also been linked with film executive RANDY STONE.

According to Variety Gillian might have a new movie!!! Miramax is in serious negotiations with Madeleine Stowe, Angelina Jolie, Gillian Anderson and Gena Rowlands to star in 'Dancing About Architecture,' a drama written and to be directed by Willard Carroll. The film revolves around the adventures of three sisters (Stowe, Jolie, Anderson) and their mother (Rowlands).

GILLIAN ANDERSON has split with boyfriend RODNEY ROWLAND after a holiday in Bali which was supposed to repair the cracks in their relationship. According to friends the holiday was a "disaster" because the couple couldn't bear to spent 24 hours a day with each other. Anderson and Rowland became friends on the set of "Never Again", filmed a year ago.

Thousands of fans of THE X-FILES have attended the first X-Files Expo of the year held at an abandoned military base near San Francisco. Among the shows stars who turned up were co-star MITCH PILEGGI, who plays SKINNER, and NICHOLAS LEA, who plays agent ALEX KRYCEK as well as theme music composer MARK SNOW. Reruns of "The X-Files" are fetching record revenues from syndication and FX, industry sources report. Cash license fees and advertising revenue could be as high as $900,000 per episode for initial two-year syndication; Fox's sister cabler, FX, pays $600,000 per episode for its five-year contract on "The X-Files"'s non-exclusive cable rights.

There have been many rumours around at the moment regarding David Duchovny's future in The X-Files but they were recently dismissed by his manager who was quoted as saying, "David has every intention of staying on The X-Files". Rumours were sparked by the news that Chris Owens will soon be playing a prominent FBI agent named Jeffrey Spender in the upcoming episode, Patient X who would possibly be a stand-in for Mulder. But representatives for Duchovny and Fox confirmed that both Gillian and David are signed through to the 1999-2000 season and that Owens is an addition to the series, not a replacement. The recently aired episode, Kill Switch (written by William Gibson and Tom Maddox), has done what Chinga failed to do - win the hearts of the viewers. While Chinga was dismissed by X-Philes and slammed by the critics, Kill Switch won over the positive reviews and reactions. Well, what would you expect in a show where Scully kickboxes a room of sexy young nurses? Reactions included, "To all of you who have dissed season five consistently, if THIS episode doesn't get you back into the XF fold, I'm afraid that nothing ever will." and "I hope whoever wrote this writes some more." He says, "I think I was called Smoulder, Smoulder and Skulky, something like that. "It had nothing to do with the show, but they had a man and a woman, and the girl was a redhead. I was flattered."

DAVID DUCHOVNY has won $368,000 from a mail order company that flogged photos of him bearing his phoney autograph. Duchovny, 37, who plays agent MULDER in the series claimed the company had damaged his reputation and his value in advert deals. He told a Los Angeles court, "I also suffered injury to my peace, happiness and feelings."
