Mr. October had a successful world premiere at Film Fest New Haven on Saturday April 5th, 1997 in New Haven CT. Audience reaction was very strong, and people travelled to see the film from as far away as Boston, Maryland, Philadelphia, and New York City. And yes, the director even attended all the way from Los Angeles, CA. Talk about dedication! A sincere thanks to all who attended. I can't believe some of you drove so far for our 20 minute film.
I am also pleased to announce that we won the audience award for best short comedy! Thanks to all who attended and made this screening great!
Mike Lee also was kind enough to photograph the official first
members of the Mr. October fan club outside the screening venue in New
Haven. You'll find the large original version of this photo at the bottom
of this page. Thanks Mike!
Unsolicited reviews of Mr. October include "awesome", "hilarious." The organizers of the festival were also very complementary about the film in all its aspects. It was great to have the first ever non film-school audience screen Mr. October.
The original Mr. October fans who came especially to attend the first screening, with the director. Thanks all for supporting our film!
