There are several similarities between the old McQuarrie pics and this brand new ones. Lucas wants to combine modern and classic styles in the cities of Coruscant. Just compare them with the McQuarrie pics below. |

Here you can see the streets of Coruscant (left) and the plaza. I took these images (the last six) because Lucas used McQuarries paintings as a model for the SE and i think for the Prequels, too. |
