After endless back and forth rumors as to Vanessa Marcil's (Brenda) contract status, it seems as though a decision has been reached. Official word has come saying that she will depart from the role of Brenda Barrett. Details as to exactly when she will depart and if Brenda will be recast have not been released.

this time the rumor is true. Vanessa Marcil is leaving the role of Brenda Barrett on GENERAL HOSPITAL sometime this Fall.

I know that this rumor has been flying around for what seems like years, but this time it is true. I was taken by surprise when the news reached me yesterday as I assumed this was just another round of the "Is Brenda leaving" rumor being started up again. Although I am sorry to see Vanessa leave GH, I wish her the best of luck in all of her future projects. What I can't confirm, however, is whether or not she is leaving to join the cast of BEVERLY HILLS 90210. That is still just a rumor at this point.
