Lucky Spencer on the ABC Television Network's "General Hospital"

The energetic and adventurous son of Luke and Laura Spencer (Anthony Geary and Genie Francis), daytime television's most famous couple, Lucky Spencer is proof positive that the apple never falls far from the tree. In the 15 or so years since his birth, the charismatic youngster has had more than his share of excitement, continually finding himself in the center of the action with his free-spirited parents.

For actor Jonathan Jackson, the role of Lucky is choice. "Lucky lives every boy's dream," Jonathan asserts. "He has loving parents, a baby sister, a loyal dog, and even a little bit of danger." In fact, his character has already been witness to shoot-outs and bombings in Port Charles. "Lucky loves adventure, but . . ." he allows, "with parents like Luke and Laura, he can't help but get into the action."

Jonathan joined "General Hospital" in October, 1993. In May of 1995, Jonathan received an Emmy Award as Outstanding Young Actor, and was nominated again in both 1996 and 1997. In 1995, he also received a Soap Opera Award as Outstanding Child Actor, as well as The Hollywood Reporter Young Star Award in both 1995 and 1997. Jonathan's talent and work ethic has earned him respect and acclaim from all who have worked with him. People magazine definitively summed up Jonathan by stating, "Jonathan Jackson can legitimately lay claim to the throne of James Dean."

A resident of Washington state, Jonathan began giving serious consideration to an acting career following a visit to Universal Studios Hollywood in 1991. His older brother, Richard, made the first move to Los Angeles in pursuit of a performing career and Jonathan and his mother soon followed. Jonathan had a few commercials under his belt before he was chosen from several hundred young hopefuls for the enviable role of Lucky Spencer. Jonathan made his feature film debut starring in the summer comedy, "Camp Nowhere." He has also starred in the ABC television movie, "The Legend of Ruby Silver," as well as opposite his brother Richard in the original cable film, "Prisoner of Zenda, Inc."

Although acting is his favorite activity, Jonathan is an active athlete, participating in a wide variety of sports including basketball, baseball, rollerblading, fencing and billiards. In addition, he enjoys playing his guitar. Jonathan, his brother Richard and their mother divide their time between homes in Los Angeles and Washington state (where the family maintains a permanent residence).
