Over the course of his long and rollicking run in Port Charles, Scotty Baldwin has progressed from a sweet, lovesick kid to a struggling law student, and onto a sexy scoundrel with a heart of gold. Always trying to take shortcuts in search of riches, power and respect, Scotty is equally clever in matters of the heart. He uses any means to get the woman he wants!
In 1966, Lee Baldwin married Meg Bentley, and happily adopted her six-year old son, Scotty. The Baldwins were a family! As a child, Scotty almost died when his kidneys failed. Lee donated his kidney to save Scotty's life.
In 1977, the grown-up Scotty moved from New York's Greenwich Village back to Port Charles and became instantly captivated by young Laura Webber. In 1978 Bobbie Spencer nearly tricked Scotty into marrying her, but he discovered her charade in the nick of time. In June 1979, Scotty married Laura in a casual, country-style wedding in Port Charles Park.
Upon discovering that Luke raped Laura, Scotty punched him out in 1980 - sending Luke and Laura on the run! In 1981, Scotty returned to Port Charles - just in time to snag Laura's bouquet after her wedding to Luke. Motivated by the all-mighty dollar, Scotty lied, cheated, and pulled from his surplus of dirty tricks to marry rich Susan Moore in 1982. In 1988, Scotty schemed to break up Bobbie and Jake - and take over Jake's law practice too! In 1989, Scotty entered into a steamy affair with Lucy Coe after her breakup with Tony Jones.
On a lark, Scotty married Dominique Taub in 1992. Before long, they fell in love! Dominique's 1993 death nearly destroyed Scotty - but her unborn baby lived on in surrogate mother Lucy Coe! In a cabin during a snowstorm, Scotty helped Lucy give birth to Serena Lee Baldwin in 1993. After Scotty saved Serena from being kidnapped, he knew he had to take her away. Scotty fled to Canada with Serena in 1993.
In 1997 Scotty returned to Port Charles to rescue his daughter Serena from kidnappers. He will meet his grown daughter Karen and team up with his former flame Lucy in order to protect his family from Dominique's scheming uncle Rex.
