Beast mode: Big, menacing rhino. Unlike his original beast mode,
Rhinox looks MEAN. His horn is huge and fierce looking. The vacume metallized
part is his torso, which is an awsome green. This is a great mode aside
from one thing, his back legs are only about two thirds of the size of
his front legs. This makes him look as if he's looking up constantly, which
gets annoying. He also
has flaps on the back of his legs that just kinda hang there and get
in the way.
Vehicle Mode: This big, mean looking rhino turns into a big, mean looking ATV in a couple twists and turns. His back mini-legs fold up into treds on the back of his thieghs. Then those freaking flaps on the back of Rhinox's front legs fold down to form skies. The back treads fold down and Rhinox is ready to kick some Pred butt. This is a nice mode that looks good and is well balanced.
Transformation: This is a little complex and gets confusing. First off, panels on his side fold up. His front legs pull out sideways. These legs flip around. His chest folds out. His arms are under that and they then fold out. The rhino head splits in half and then a back panel folds up to becom the chest. Fold the chest panels closed. The bottom of the rhino then swings up onto his back and you can press in his legs. With a little exessive force, that the box says isn't necessary, the legs connect at the groin. A sword like weapon comes off his shoulder and fits into the bottom of Rhinox's hand. Wa la. I'm lost so you probably are too. Just follow the box.
Robot Mode: This is cool and a dissappointment as well. He is very bulky and muscular as well, that's cool. He also looks like a constapated gnome, that's disappointing. He has some really cool textures and huge shoulders, that's cool. He alson has a huge piece of machinery on his back that makes him fall over constantly. That' s bad. Rhinox does have a neat sword. That's neat. He doesn't have a gun, no less, he doesn't have anything even remotely related to his awsome chainguns in the show. That just sucks. That detracts from the toy so much that he has little play value. Another problem is that his metallic paint comes off every time I transform him. He's got more scratches in the month I've owned him than any other toy I've ever owned.
Articulation: 13 points overall. Head, shoulders, biceps, elbows, hips, knees, and feet.
Rating: 7 out of 10. The only transmetal thus far that's been
a dissappointment. Good points as well as bad. Probably better that the
original, but not by much. If you're debating about buying this guy...
don't, just don't.
