Vehicle mode : VERY VERY large jet mode. Black with alot of clear blue plastic make this one the best looking Machine Wars toy. Has a bomb dropping gimmick in this mode. The bombs are neon green. Pulling a lever on top of the toy either closes up some of the clear blue plastic or opens it up , a very neat effect. The plane also has a few places to store the missles other than the two bomb droppers , two can be stored on each wing and one under each side of the main front area that turns into the legs. The laser scope is useless on this toy , the original Skyquake used it to show Transformers slides.
Transformation: As with most of the new toys , this transformation is very simple , a few twists and turns and you have the robot. Head comes out of the chest , a cool effect. Nosecone is very difficult to separate , alot of force is required.
Robot Mode : Large and menacing in robot mode. Tallest toy in the Machine Wars line , approximitly a foot. Only the arms move at the shoulders , which is a pity , then again this is a 1991 mold , so poseability cannot be expected. Just like with Soundwave , this guy's gun is no longer present. Another weaponless robot mode , looks like the old Screamer is going to have to use his fists this time around. Oh and this one bares no resemblence to Star Scream. Looks pretty cool though , if not like who it's supposed to depict. Decent robot mode.
Weapons: Only has the bomb dropping mechanism. No hand gun . Scope is useless. At least they included the missles , which are the same as the ones used for Stalker , I wonder why Soundwave came with no missles and this gut did ? Screamer's missles can be used with Soundwave , you can attach them to the pegs on his treads. But that crazy neon green color will ruin the look anyhow.
Other Notes: The instructions don't indicate where all the stickers go , you'll have to play the guessing game. The package art won't help much. Since the laser scope is useless , you can put one of the Decepticon logos on his chest , it'll look real neat. Save the other for the stickerless smaller toys in the line.
Overall: Well worth the asking price of $14.99. A real bargain in my opinion. Lack of hand gun and funky neon missles are the only real downfall other than limited poseability.
