  • Bear's All time Favorites *These are older, but are some of my favorite movies that I know you would enjoy*

  • Adventure!

    1. JUMANGI

An excellent adventure about a game that once started cannot be stopped. This game becomes a part of your reality and you are caught up as you watch as Robin Williams and the children who are caught up in the game face computer-created "animals". Great movie.

For more information on Jumangi, click
      here

      DISNEY

    1. Operation Dumbo Drop

A hilarious wild ride!!! Danny Glover and Ray Liotta team up in helping an elephant complete a very important mission and along the way become friends both with the animal they are working with... and each other. You'll laugh all the way through!!!

For more information on Operation Dumbo Drop, click
      here

    2. Pocahontas

Disney's first recreation of an actual historical event. Beautiful animation and some great themes make this movie fun to watch and great for kids!

For more information on Pocahontas, click
      here

    3. The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Disney does it again! A fabulous adaptation of the novel by Victor Hugo. Once again, wonderful themes and beautiful animation light up the screen as the rich characters enchant audiences young and old. An EXCELLENT choice!

For more information on The Hunchback of Notre Dame, click
      here

    4. Toy Story

A Disney Masterpiece. This is by far one of the most stunning displays of computer animation done yet. This is a terrific "journey" into the lives of toys... two in particular who find themselves trying to make it home before it's too late. Definitely one to watch if you have not seen it already. Full of laughs.

      here

      Comedy!

    1. The Birdcage

A funny movie about the life of a gay "couple" and their son who wants to get married and will do anything to hide the "sexual" orientation of his father. Robin Williams is hilarious. If you're in the mood to laugh, this is the movie for you.

For more information on The Bird Cage, click
      here

    2. Grumpier Old Men

The hilarious sequel to Grumpy Old Men. Though it seemed that nothing could top the first movie, this one comes pretty close! Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon are out to cause trouble once again! This is one definitely not to be missed!!!!!

For more information on Grumpier Old Men, click
      here

    3. Emma

Gwyneth Paltrow plays the part of Emma, a delighfully meddlesome woman who is up to her eyes in everyone else's business. When she starts to fix people up together, however, her plans backfire and she gets tangled within her own web. Paltrow is quite funny in this, and although it was a bit slow in places, if you hang in there, you'll end the movie with a warm place in your heart.

      Action!

    1. The Long Kiss Goodnight

Yahoo! Get ready for the ultimate woman-spy movie. A woman loses her memory of her past, but that past comes back to haunt her in an incredible action-packed movie that should keep you hoppin' all the way through! There are lots of explosions and the story line isn't half bad! You should definitely check this one out if you haven't seen it already.

For more information about The Long Kiss Goodnight, click
      here

    2. Mission: Impossible

Now talk about Cruise at high speeds! If you're a Cruise fan, or even an action fan, this is the movie for you. Cruise plays a man bent on achieving his Mission: Impossible which was to break into CIA headquarters for something everyone wants-- the knock list. Definitely a great movie with some killer but impossible special affects!

For more information on Mission: Impossible, click
      here

      Fantasy!

    1. Dragon Heart

The ULTIMATE dragon movie!! Sean Connery plays the voice and "character" of Draco, the last dragon who is trying to survive from Dennis Quaid who desperately wishes to slay the dragon. The two first are enemies, and then become friends in a wonderfully done fantasy adventure that is sure to make you smile and root for Draco. Also has a few laughs. A great movie.

      here

      Science Fiction!

    1. Star Trek: First Contact

    2. For all you Trekie Fans, this is definitely the movie for you! Who can resist all those sexy TNG characters ... including Jean Luc Picard? What makes this a really great movie is the fact that the Enterprise battles with their old enemy: the borg. This is full of action and will keep your attention all the way through. One of the best Star Trek TNG movies yet.

    3. INDEPENDENCE DAY

    4. ID4? You haven't seen it yet? This one is definitely one to watch-- even if you're not a sci-fi fan. This one (starring among others -- Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, and Bill Pullman) combines humor with terror as aliens are all set to invade earth. But thanks to the Heroic effort and skill of Smith, Goldblum, and Pullman, the earth is saved... but not without tragedy along the way. Lots of action and the animals are spared! Definitely one to watch at night. You'll like the special affects.

      Suspense/Thrillers

      1. The Net

      2. For all those net people out there! Sandra Bullock plays the main character in a realistic movie with a scary idea. How easy it is that one can lose their entire identity... and it all starts over the net! Bullock finds herself in hot water when she discovers something that no one is supposed to know about. When her life is "erased" from existence, Bullock is forced to try and get her life back and keep the "information" safe at all costs and expose those who are behind it in the process. Great movie full of suspense.

      3. Mary Reilly

      4. Talk about bizarre! This one scared me in several places, and I am rarely afraid! Julia Roberts plays "maid" in the old Dr. Jekyll/ Mr. Hyde story. This one, however, is very nicely done and you actually forget that you know most of the story line. This is very intense ... and you will definitely get caught up in this one. Watch it AFTER the kids have gone to bed.

For more information about Mary Reilly, click here

      5. Seven

      6. My heart is pounding just thinking about this one. Definitely one of the best movies I've seen with Brad Pitt in it. Also has Morgan Freeman. This one is the epitomy of suspense... you won't know what's happening until it's too late. It's a psycho- path killer on the loose taking people down one by one going by the seven deadly sins: Wrath, Sloth, Pride, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, and Envy. An excellent movie, but not for the weak of stomach.

For more information on Seven, click here

      7. The Jurror

      8. Demi Moore and Alec Baldwin come together to make John Grisham's great novel, a good movie. This movie is one of only two movies where I became so angry halfway through that I wanted to stop my tape. An excellent movie full of suspense that will keep you entertained and enraptured all the way through. You'll love to hate Balwin in this one. Another thinker movie.

      Romance/Action

      1. Bed of Roses

      2. Christian Slater can't be beat in this romantic movie that will make your heart skip a beat. This is a break from the fast paced world and if you like a good romance (who can resist Slater?), this is a great movie to get. After all, one can't have too many roses can she?

For more information about A Bed of Roses, click here

      3. First Knight

      4. Ah ... Richard Giere!!! Who Else? Here's a movie full of "knight" action for you. Richard Giere stars as the legendary Lancelot and Sean Connery as King Arthur who are supposed to be on the same side, but end up fighting both for the country they love, and for the love and affection of the beautiful lady Guinevere (played by Julia Ormond). This one, though a bit off the "normal" story line of King Arthur makes interesting watching. The action is good and the romance scenes aren't so bad either.

        here.

      5. Jerry Maguire

      6. Who could beat this one??!!!! I give an in-depth review of this latest hit... all you have to do is click here

      7. The Mirror Has Two Faces

      8. This was definitely a different romance! You should check this one out. It stars Nick Nolte and Barbara Streisand as an unlikely couple who decide to get together, not for love, but for a life-long friendship. But when of them starts to fall in love, the other has to either realize what they have, or lose it forever. It's a little slow in places, but it's definitely a movie you should see if you haven't seen it already.

        here

      9. The Spitfire Grill

      10. This is a wonderful movie! For an in depth look and evaluation (by me) please click here

      11. French Kiss

      12. Here's a very cute movie!!! I think you'll like this one. It stars Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline who meet on the oddest of circumstances and embark on an odd friendship that turns into more. Definitely a movie to watch! I wouldn't mind owning this one!!!!

For more information on French Kiss, click
        here

      13. The Truth About Cats And Dogs

      14. This is definitely one of my favorite love stories that has come out in the last couple of years. This is about a man who falls in love with a woman who is the host of a show about animals. This woman sure that he will not like her, convinces her friend to go in her place for a date. As the movie progresses and things begin to happen, you find out whether the man will really go for the girl with the brains, or the girl with the "looks". Rent this movie if you haven't seen it already.

      Children

      1. Matilda

      2. This is such a cute movie that your kids are sure to love ... and so will you! I was skeptical of this movie, but it turned out to be great. It's about a girl who ended up with some special powers and some not so special parents! See how she deals with her home life, her school and it's terrible teacher, and wins the heart of those around her. A wonderful movie.

      Bear's All Time Favorites!

I have MANY movie favorites, but the following are just a few. You should really check 'em out if you haven't seen them already.

      1. Pretty Woman

One of the best movies I have ever seen. Richard Giere and Julia Roberts show us that fairy tales really CAN come true.

      2. An Affair To Remember

Gorgeous Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr star in this "older" remake of Love Affair. This my all-time favorite movie. This is another "romance" but it's great.

      3. Legends Of The Fall

Bradd Pitt, Anthony Hopkins, Julia Ormond, and Aidan Quinn star in a movie that you will love to hate. This is another one of those movies where you might get so angry halfway through that you have to stop the tape. An Excellent Movie.

      4. The Lion King

I'd have to say that this is one of Disney's finest movies made. It is not based on any other work by anyone and the animation and story line are great. And with some catchy tunes and good themes, this is DEFINITELY a movie to own if you have kids... or even if you don't.

      5. The Princess Bride

A great movie. Has Cary Elwes and Fred Savage to name a couple. And this "inconceivably" good movie will keep you entertained all the way through. Okay, okay, so it's another Love Story... but it's a great movie to watch.

      6. Speed

A great action movie! Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock star in this action-packed movie. Although some scenes are impossible, it's still awesome to watch.

        Please Note!
