Tomb

Welcome to The Tomb! This is my archive of stories. Most of my longer ones would be considered in the Young Adult genre, and they're supposed to be because that's the type I want to write (if you want to know why, ask me :-)). Most of these stories are linked to their posting on fanfiction.net and fictionpress.net (because I'm lazy).

Original fiction

Lies of the Heart
Yay, this story is finally done! I think it's my best work, and it's also my only one in which nobody dies! A dream spurred me to start it, and it's fun and different from what I usually write, so I've really enjoyed it. I've linked to a Word document of this because it's the most recent edit. If that doesn't work for you, you can find it at fictionpress.net (author name thedarkscribe).
Summary: For her New Year's resolution, Natalie decides to finally pursue her dream guy. Only it turns out to be much harder than she thought.

Reisender
I've been wanting to do a fantasy, so hopefully this one will be it. I haven't done very much with it yet. Hopefully, my heart will get back into it soon.
Summary: They thought it was just a myth, that it didn't exist. But the Reisender does exist, and when Jesse accidentally activates it, he's in for some trouble.

The Prize
I temporarily stopped writing this one when "Lies of the Heart" began writing itself. I'll eventually try to get back to it now that "Lies" is done.
Summary: Danielle gets more than she bargained for when she wins a chance at a scholarship: a week at an enormous mansion with nine others - and somebody out to get them.

Deadspin
Yet another story I may go back to. Got the idea for it one morning and just started writing it out. Most likely, this one will get last priority, but we'll see.
Summary: Sometimes even the best people aren't who they say they are.

Trust
This is the first long story I ever finished. Hence, it's been done since 1998, and I hope to eventually go back and fix up some things that grate on my nerves now (and there are a lot). However, I'm still fond of it, terrible as it is.
Summary: When Kait moves to a new town, she finds her life is in danger. She doesn't *really* know anybody... Who can she trust with her life?

Witchlight Award for an Inspired Fanfic

The Party
A short story. I originally wrote it for a class assignment in ninth grade. I revised it just a tad, then decided since I had this archive, I might as well put it up. It's not my best work, but I think it's okay, especially considering I was 14 when I wrote it.
Summary: Lauren's dream date goes terribly wrong.

Escape
A short-short story I wrote for my Fiction Writing class. It's really short (as it's supposed to be, given it's a "short-short" story), but I think it's more "mature" than some of my other writings.
Summary: Can't tell you, it's too short and it would give it away. :-)

Sex, Lies, and Photographs
A short story I wrote for my Fiction Writing class. This is the final, fully revised version that I turned in as my Final. I think it's fairly decent.
Summary: Joe faces a dilemma when the girl he loves accuses his roommate of rape.

L.J. Smith fanfiction

The Executioners
This is my first attempt at an L.J. Smith fanfic. It took me a few years to write, and I'm very happy with how it turned out.
Summary: Trouble arises for a gang of vampire slayers when a new vampire comes to town ... and people start disappearing.
Third place in Romance story in Twilight Tales' 2002 Bloody Quills Contest

A New Kind of Game
A short story that came to me as I fell asleep one night.
Summary: What if Julian decided to use something different for the first Game?
First place in Comedy story in Twilight Tales' 2003 Bloody Quills Contest

A Bone to Pick
A 100-word drabble.
Summary: Even Night World clubs have morons.
