(sung by the chorus of Americans with Sarah, Captain America's girlfriend)
Sung by: The Chorus of Americans
This looks hopeless, what can we do?
We need a champion, what can we do?
The army sends flyers out in the street
Lookin' for 4-F men, sounds like we're beat
We need a man to inspire
We need a man to inspire
Sung by: Sarah, Captain America's girlfriend
Answer the call, Steve; Fight for your land
I love you so much, but let go of my hand
Fight for your country, show them your skill
Strike fear in their hearts like no one else will
Sung by: The Chorus of Americans
We need a man to inspire
We need a man to inspire
We need a man to inspire
We need a man to inspire
This song was written after the completion of Ghost Cars (Album 1), but before any work had begun on No Phone, No Pool, No Pets (Album 2). Written in March/April 2004. This is the first song that I wrote after the inital writing phase when I started the project (2002). This song really solidified the fact that I was actually going to finish the project one day. I came to that decision almost wholly on the strength of this song (to me.) I recorded a demo of this song with acoustic guitar and vocals in April 4, 2004. The song was originally envisioned with the full war/speech intro featured on the final recording, but the demo does not feature it.
