(sung by Lars -the boy- and Captain America)
Sung by: Lars -the boy-
Hey Mister, wake up
It's not over yet
I was walking by and I
I thought you were dead
But then you moved your arm
And I came to your side
If you can get to your feet
Then I can give you a place to hide
What's your name?
Mine is Lars
Ha ha, you're sure dressed up fancy
With those stripes and stars
Sung by: Captain America
Thank you, Son
That's very kind
But it's not worth the trouble
It's not worth the time
My name is not important
Because I am through
I came on a mission
That I've failed to do
I've failed my country
I've failed myself
This shield would do more good
In the hands of someone else
Sung by: Lars -the boy-
You give up too easy
This fight is far from done
He may have won the battle
But the war is not won
So your suit is torn
So your shield is bent
I thought your strength and power
Came from within
You gotta stand tall
For what you believe in
I heard you shoutin' that
To all of your men
Don't you remember?
They needed someone
To help them with their cause
Don't you remember?
You volunteered
Without a single pause
You are the man to inspire
You are the man to inspire
Sung by: Captain America
You know you're right!
I gotta get back home
Gotta stop Red Skull's army
And make my presense known
I can't thank you enough
My young friend
You made me realize
Just exactly who I am
My name is Captain America
My name is Captain America
My name is Captain America
My name is Captain America
This song was written on January 7 & 8th, 2007. It's a very long, very lyrical type of song that I rarely produce,
but I was feelin' it on this one. I was fingerpicking, trying to be quiet at night after work when I started to find this song.
The words just kept flowin'. It reminds me in that way of a good Bob Dylan song (not to make a comparison...the structure and sound
of the song just make ME think of Bob). I guess you could say that I see his influence on me in this one. Anyway, I really like this one a lot.
