(sung by Steve Rogers, with Sarah, Mother, Father, the chorus of Americans and the Army Recruiter)

Sung by: Steve Rogers
I'm joinin' up, headin' down there tonight
I'm joinin' up, gonna do what's right
Hand me my bag, it's packed up tight
Cuz I'm joinin' up

And you will see, that I am
The one to lead them all
You will know, that I am
Working to prevent justice's fall

I'm joinin' up, headin' down there tonight
I'm joinin' up, gonna do what's right
Hand me my bag, it's packed up tight
Cuz I'm joinin' up

Sung by: Sarah, Captain America's girlfriend
I'm so proud of you Steve
You're doing what you were meant to do!

Sung by: Steve Roger's Mother
I'm not sure, Steve
Do you know what you're getting yourself into?

Sung by: Steve Roger's Father
Go get 'em, Son!
Show those Nazis what for!

Sung by: The Chorus of Americans
We're all behind you, Steve!
Joinin' up! Going to war!

Sung by: Steve Rogers
I'm joinin' up, headin' down there tonight
I'm joinin' up, gonna do what's right
Hand me my bag, it's packed up tight
Cuz I'm joinin' up

Sung by: The Army Recruiter
Hello, Son.
Have a seat.
If you just sign, on that dotted line
It'll make the process complete
We'll escort you down the hallway
And introduce you to a man
Reinstein's his name
He came up with this super soldier plan
He'll inject the Super Serum
And you'll lay down, just like you're goin' to sleep
And I'm here to promise you
That you won't feel a thing

This song was started on 12-31-2006, but it was really written and put together on January 7, 2007. This was the first song with lyrics of the most recent batch of songs. As with "A Man to Inspire", when I had written this song I knew that I would finish this project one day. Except this time, I was pretty positive and hopeful it would be finished in 2007, instead of "someday."

The three parts in the song started out as three individual musical ideas, and then I had the smashing notion to put them together. It worked. I recorded a demo version with acoustic guitar, vocals, and some backup vocals on the day I finished writing it, January 7, 2007. It's fairly rough when compared to the finished recording, but the demo was good enough to net me a "Special Thanks" in the Music From Home songwriting contest in early 2007.
