(sung by Captain America)
Sung by: Captain America
Flyin' in an aeroplane
Goin' Overseas
I feel like I'm ready to fight
I'm what my country needs
Fear courses through my veins
Despite my super strength
I've never seen a battlefield
And the horrors it contains
Goin' Overseas
Goin' Overseas
You gotta
Stand tall for what you want!
Stand tall for what you believe in!
Stand tall for one another!
Before democracy tumbles down
Before justice comes tumblin' down
Better put my parachute on
I'll be the first one out
Don't worry, soldiers!
If you need help, just shout
I'll be there in a flash
To protect your precious lives
You'll see your Mama's face again
It's only a matter of time
Remember to
Stand tall for what you want!
Stand tall for what you believe in!
Stand tall for one another!
Before democracy tumbles down
Before justice comes tumblin' down
Goin' Overseas
Goin' Overseas
This song was written on March 23, 2004. It was written after I had finished working on my first album, Ghost Cars, and was looking for something to occupy myself. A trip back to Captain America was in order and I wrote this and "A Man to Inspire" at around the same time frame. Unfortunately, I never recorded a demo of this song when I wrote it.
