(sung by The Red Skull and the Nazi Soldiers)
Sung by: The Red Skull
You disgust me!
Captain America!
Oh but you look so cute!
Where is my camera?
So you have a shield?
Ha! I don't care!
But it'll be a shame to kill you
when you have those blue eyes and blonde hair!
Sung by: The Nazi Soldiers
Tell him Red Skull
Speak the words of truth
He's the Nazi's champion
If you Americans still need a clue!
Sung by: The Red Skull
I've had the super-serum too
But it was more potent than yours
Remember Reinstein was on our side
Before he hit your shores
You must know it's futile
You couldn't beat us if you tried!
We're stronger and faster too!
Go back home, you're not qualified!
Sung by: The Nazi Soldiers
Tell him Red Skull
Speak the words of truth
He's the Nazi's champion
If you Americans still need a clue!
This song was written on January 9, 2007. I was at work and I got the idea while I was emptying out the book drop. I took a break and furiously scribbled down a page of initial lyrics. This was a big breakthrough because the Red Skull songs had always been a barrier. I had no idea how to write a Red Skull song. I couldn't connect myself to his character, so it never worked. But as I said, I had a breakthrough and wrote this song, which made it easier to write his other songs as well.
I recorded a demo of this song on February 18, 2007. It was recorded as a suite with the following three songs (they all go into each other).
It was made as a vocal reference so I wouldn't forget melodies and timing, so it's not so much an actual demo.
As for the genesis of the music, in 2004 when I was writing "Goin' Overseas" and "A Man to Inspire," I also did a short keyboard demo
of a "Red Skull" song. I still like that a lot and took the main part of that little demo and made it this song.
