Maria Deluca brings comedy at a refreshing pace to the teen sci-fi show Roswell. Majandra Delfino plays the "drama queen" of the human trio who finds out their classmates are not of this earth.

"These kids are living totally normal lives, living in this place that is so tourist attracted. We work in these alien outfits--one Sigourney Weaver, one Will Smith. It's such a joke to us. And then things occur where we think, "Maybe . . ." [Popstar!]

Except when Maria finds out they are . . . Czechoslovakians she runs away screaming out of the Crashdown. Contemplating whether she should tell Sheriff Valenti we see her compassionate side. (Monters) Maria doesn't tell him because she doesn't want to break up any other families. Maria only having a single mother and a father who deserted them a long time ago. We also throughout the episodes see her loyalty towards her best friend Liz. For example, she comforts Liz when her grandma is sick in Leaving Normal.

Then there's Michael Guerin the rebel of the alien trio. Dreaming of him in a tuxedo, rescuing him inside caves, and falling to the occasional bouts of uncharateristic behavior, Michael has a way of pushing Maria's vocal buttons. Their constant verbal battles can barely hide the sexual tension between them. Granted the passion is outrageous between Michael and Maria are worth watching for in future episodes.
