Stewart Granger Site

Stewart Granger (1913-1993) was a wonderful actor from the '40s and '50s. He was generally the romantic leading man/swashbuckler (which he could play very, very well.) I'd searched the Web up and down looking for more information on him and since I didn't find a page on him- I figured I'd have to build one myself! I haven't deserted this page...I just haven't got back to it too often of late- I'm still here...(April 25, 03.) If you have any questions or comments just email me at ameliagoldfeesh@yahoo.com. I don't really look at my guestbook much as I've lost my password to it...

I have just found out that both Scaramouche and North to Alaska will be coming to DVD. North to Alaska will be out June 3 and Scaramouche will be out July 1! Yay! Plus, there is a newer version of the novel Scaramouche out, large paperback, that has Granger as Scaramouche on the cover which is available at Amazon- and other places I'm sure.

This picture is courtesy of Sumner and Patty as are all of the Granger images. {This picture was autographed for them- weren't they lucky :-) }Here are some more pictures they were kind enough to let me show.

Another (!) autographed picture
This is from the back cover of Sparks Fly Upwards

Future Plans

I'd like to be able to give some general information about his life and movies. I plan to list and review all the movies of his I've seen (unbiasedly, of course :-). I must warn you, I give away the endings. I'd also like to see if I can find any pictures and put them up here. Well, I have the pics-but am having technical difficulties. There are some collectible Granger items to be found if you look for them. Here is a Granger-related poem I found on the web- The Prisoner of Zenda by Richard Wilbur. Plus here is a link to the novel King Solomon's Mines by H. Rider Haggard. Another novel that was filmed is Moonfleet. They are put up by the Bibliomania people. Here are some other related links.

Complete Listing of Movies
The movies marked with a have pictures to go with them.

I'll mark the ones available on US VHS and DVD. (Why I hadn't done this sooner is beyond me...)
