Crowd Noise

I could tell by the amount of e-mail I was getting each day that my page was getting some attention. And some of the mail I recieved was so nice, that I felt I had to share it with you! If you want to skip this section, feel free to, but I really felt like I had to make this page. Thank you  to all of you who sent me mail! I hope you don't mind that I post some of your letters here, but if you do, please drop me a note, and it'll be gone!

"Yeah....he went to Harvard.  He lived in my Freshman Dormitory, Matthews South.
We knew he had been in the movie Mystic Pizza.  So, it's not a maybe.  It's a definite."
-Erik Weitzman, about the Matt Damon College Picture.

"Hello,
As a fellow Matt Damon fan, I appreciate that finally someone has
put up a page dedicated to this talented star.  I completely agree with
your discussion on THE RAINMAKER, and I had the priviledge of seeing
GOOD WILL HUNTING on Friday night in Century City.  Not only because of
Matt, the movie was one of the best I have ever seen.  The script was
fantastic, the cast was uniformly excellent, the score was great, and it
moved me to tears.  I can honestly say that it ranks now among some of
my all time favorite movies, and I can not wait to see it again..."
-Pat, a great aid to this page.

"Dear creator of the Unofficial Matt Damon page,

My name is Viviana MacManus and I just want to thank you for putting
up the first Matt Damon page!!! He certainly does deserve a page, he is
such a talented actor. The pictures are really gorgeous, thanks so much
for dedicating a page to him!
Well, I am from Los Angeles, California so this is one of the few
cities where Good Will Hunting was released yesterday. And, needless to
say, I saw it!!! It is a truly remarkable and poignant film, you will
definately love it. He was excellent in The Rainmaker too, but he really
shines in this feature. I was truly moved by his eloquent performance; this
movie definately proves his talent for screenwriting and acting. It is
so refreshing to have a movie like this come out..."
I don't know when general release of the movie is, but it was only
showing in 3 theaters in LA. And it was sold out when I got there too!
But I bought tickets for another movie and snuck into Good Will Hunting
and I had to sit up in the first row. But hey...I was closer to Matt that
way! ;) Matt first caught my eye in School Ties, which was several years
ago. Now he seems to be everywhere, which is nice! My mom subscribes to
Vanity Fair and I was so happy when I saw him on the cover! I read that
he lives in Griffith Park, in LA, which is not that far from where I
live! Sorry for rambling on about Matt, but one just can't help it! ;)
"... I really like Ben Affleck too; and I read Ben Affleck
went to Occidental College in LA, and my mom is a Spanish professor
there. So I immediately asked her if she had him as a student, but she said
no. Too bad!
   "...I hope you get to
see Good Will Hunting very soon, no Matt Damon fan should be denied this
movie! :) Take care, sincerely, Viviana."

"Did you happen to see GOOD WILL HUNTING?   I think that movie encapsulated
exactly what his background is and how grounded he is as a human being.
My friend at Warner Bros. told me yesterday that he was at this bar some time
ago and how Matt bought everyone drinks after he had just found out that
his screenplay was bought by Miramax."
-This was sent in from Paul Duong, who works at Columbia TriStar. (Isn't Matt the best??)

MATT IS PROBABLY THE MOST DEDICATED AND PASSIONATE ACTOR I KNOW. WHILE HE WAS GETTING READY FOR THE MOVIE COURAGE UNDER FIRE HE LOST 40 POUNDS BY RUNNING, LIFTING WEIGHTS, AND LIVING OFF CHICKEN BREAST AND WATER. HE LOST SO MUCH WEIGHT SO FAST THAT HE ACTUALLY GOT REALLY SICK. MATT LOVES TO PLAY CARDS. THAT'S WHY HE IS STARTING A MOVIE IN NEW YORK CALLED ROUNDERS WITH ED NORTON. MATT WILL PLAY A CARD SHARK THAT MAKES HIS LIVING BY PLAYING CARDS. HERE'S A FUNNY STORY. THE PAST MONTH MATT HAS BEEN DOING A LOT OF PUBLICITY AND WHILE HERE IN L.A. HE WAS ON THE JAY LENO SHOW. A BUNCH OF HIS FRIENDS WENT TO HIS HOTEL TO WATCH THE SHOW WITH HIM, HE WAS SO TIRED FROM ALL THE TRAVEL WE HAD TO WAKE HIM UP SO HE WOULDN'T MISS HIMSELF ON LENO. TAKE CARE! BUBBA
-Bubba, Matt's roomate while he wrote Good Will Hunting!

Thanks a million to all those who wrote! E-mail me with your thoughts, stories, or comments on Matt!
