>The tale of Romeo & Juliet is about the happenings of two forbidden lovers. Their families (The
Montagues and The Capulets) share an ancient grudge, and now it has broken to a new mutiny. The Capulets only daughter (Juliet) meets the Montagues only son (Romeo) at a costume ball held at the Capulet mansion. They experience love at first sight, each falling desperately in love as they see the other through an amazing fishtank. Their love is so strong that they are married the next day, keeping everything secret from their parents. Juliet's cousin (Tybalt) is angry at Romeo for being present at the Capulet ball, and he sets out to challenge Romeo to a duel. He meets up with Romeo just after Romeo and Juliet's marriage and in the effort to get Romeo to fight him (Romeo refuses to fight), Romeo's best friend Mercutio is killed. Romeo wreaks revenge and in a sudden fit of anger kills Tybalt. He's banished from Verona walls and before going to hideout in Mantua he spends the night with his love and wife, Juliet.
The following morning Romeo travels to Mantua to wait for things to settle down before he returns to Verona. meanwhile, Juliet's parents bring her the news that they've planned for her to wed Dave Paris (The governor's son, pictured below) Juliet will have none of it and enrages her parents with the news she will NOT marry Paris on Thursday morn. Her father is furious and says that no matter what she will marry Paris . Juliet seeks help from Friar Laurence (he knows of Romeo & Juliet's secret marriage, he wed them) he comes to her aid and hatches a plan. His plan being, that Juliet shall drink a special potion which makes her appear dead, then she will be taken to the Capulet tomb and laid there. He will then send a letter to Romeo informing him of her whereabouts and he will come late that night to the tomb and when she awakes the two shall fled together.
However, everything does not go to plan, Romeo never recieves the urgent letter, and when Balthasar sees Juliet apparently dead in the tomb, he speeds back to Romeo and tells him the news of Juliet's death. Romeo is overcome with grief and collapses to his knees screaming the name of his loved one. He decides he will travel to Verona, to the Capulet tomb and commit suicide alongside his Juliet. Romeo speeds off just in time to miss the mailman whose come to give him the urgent letter from the priest. D'oh!
Romeo reaches Verona and travels to an Apothecary who sells him a small vile of poison which
Romeo plans to slay himself with. He rushes to Juliet's grave and as he whispers his last good-bye, Juliet begins to awake. Just as Romeo uncorks his poison and is about to drink Juliet wakes, she begins to reach up to Romeo. Just as she is about to touch him Romeo gulps down the poison. Suddenly he realises Juliet is awake and grasps her in fear, but it is too late, Romeo whispers "thus with a kiss I die" and he lays back and dies. Juliet bursts into tears and sighting Romeo's gun nearby she picks it up. She slowly lifts it to her head and gazing up she pulls the trigger.
