DENISE RICHARDS

In a movie in which Kevin Bacon pulls a full monty, good girl Neve Campbell goes bad and Matt Dillon is, well, Matt Dillon, it seems unlikely relative newcomer Denise Richards could generate much buzz. But that's just what she's doing with Wild Things, a story of revenge, lust and betrayal set in Miami and due in March. Richards, who turned heads last year as a hotshot young pilot in Starship Troopers, grabs the spotlight this time with a performance that leaves little to the imagination.

"I've always said I wouldn't do nudity," says the Illinois native with a laugh, as she talks about her three-way sex scene with Campbell and Dillon. "But it was pertinent to the script and the character. To be honest, a love scene is easier with a woman--it's more comfortable. You're not embarrassed to point out flaws and have her notice them."

Not that we've noticed any flaws in the twentysomething Richards, who graced runways from New York to Tokyo--she was also the Bonné Bell makeup girl for three years--before taking up acting.

Before Troopers came along, her claim to fame was as Loni Anderson's blackmailing beauty-pageant-contestant daughter on Melrose Place. "That's not my best work," she admits. Don't worry Denise. If your Wild Things work makes it past the ratings board, it's likely to make folks forget all about what came before.
