"There's no reason to shout, we are afterall in the library, Bffy!" Giles exclaimed as he emerged from behind the stacks.
"Why on earth are you here, at this time of night? It must be what, 7:00pm??"
"It's 8:00pm, actually, but that's not the point. I need to tell you what happened tonight and it couldn't wait until tomorrow."
"Giles motioned for Buffy to sit.
"Angel..?"
Buffy nodded as she sat on the staris.
"Is he...what I mean is...did you...well..."
"No he's still alive, well as alive as a dead guy can be!"
Giles sat in a chair across from Buffy.
"Well then, what seems to be the problem?"
Buffy looked up, "That's it, that is the problem! Angel is still out there. Or is that not considered to be a danger anymore?"
"Well...yes, I supose you are right! Perhaps I should have said, what has gotten you so upset..well, uh...besides the obvious?"
"I...had sort of a confrontation with him tonight!"
Giles eyes widend, "Oh...!"
Buffy took a deep breath and began by telling Giles about the dream she had the previous night.
"Which is why I had decided that tonight was the night to slay Angel. Only..."
"Only it didn't go as planned, am I right?" Giles asked.
"Aren't you always! Anyhow, I had even gotten to the cemetery early, just so I wouldn't lose my nerve. Well needless to say, my feeling was right, Angel did show up. There was the inevitable fight. Which by the way was possibly, the worst one I've had and not just because of how I felt for him, but because of how incrediable stong he is. Not to mention he knows how I fight, so there wasn't much of a surprise angle."
"But I suspect you're alright, besides being shaken up. You weren't bit or anything were you?"
"No, I'm fine. Although it was pretty close. If I hadn't been wearing this.." Buffy pulled the necklace from her pocket. "I don't know what I would have done!"
"It is ironic, isn't it?"
"Me almost being killed by Angel is ironic, how do you figure?" Buffy asked, as she stuffed the necklace back into her pocket.
"No, not that...but the the fact that it was the necklace Angel gave you that ended up saving you from him!"
Buffy stood, "Oh yeah, well that was only luck. Well I'd better get going, I promised Willow and Xander I'd meet them at the Bronze after I made the rounds. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure Angel will be staying in for the rest of tonight!" Buffy turned to leave, "Oh and Giles?"
"Yes"
"This was only round one, the fight is far from over. I will kill him, you can be sure of that!"
With that Buffy left.
"Buffy, I know I shouldn't, but I love you. I just can't help it!"
"I love you too."
Buffy leaned closer and kissed him. His arms wrapped around her. Suddenly he's in the graveyard, they're kissing again.
"Don't you care about the future?"
"No."
"Don't you care what happens?"
"When I look into the future, all I see is you, all I want is you!"
"I know the feeling!"
He leaned over to kiss her.
Angel woke up with a start, sitting up he looked around the room.
"I must be going crazy!"
Running his hands through his hair, he laid back down.
"Why was I dreaming of her? This can nott be good, she has to die!"
A breeze blew through the window, and a shadow slowly began to fall over her.
"Angel...is that you?"
Buffy rolled over, Angel was sitting on the window ledge.
"I didn't mean to wake you."
"It's alright, I wasn't alseep yet." Buffy sat up. "So what brings you here, this late?"
"I wanted to see...If it's not a good time I can come back later."
"No, now is as good a time as any. Come on in and sit down."
Angel sat on the edge of the bed, Buffy moved closer to him.
"You know I love you don't you?"
Angel nodded, "I love you too." Looking at Buffy's face, he saw the tears spill down her cheeks. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her to his chest.
"Angel," Buffy said lifting her head.
"Mmm." Angel looked into her eyes.
"Kiss me..." Angel caressed Buffy's cheek, softly placed his lips over hers and began to kss her; slowly. Finally they parted, fresh tears slid from Buffy's eyes.
"Buffy, I'll always love you..." Angel held her at arms length.
Brushing a tear from her cheek, Buffy looked out the window. "You'll always love me, but how can you forgive me..."
Angel stood, "There's nothing to forgive. I knew you'd never come to me, so I've come to you...and you know why."
Bufy slowly nodded her head. "I wish it didn't have to come to this." She slid her hand into the drawer of her nightstand. "If only there were another way..." Buffy pulled her hand back, revealing a stake. "Please forgive me Angel...my Angel."
Angel turned to face her, revealing the tear falling down his cheek. "Buffy, this is how it has to be...it is the only way..." Buffy walked over and laid her hand on his cheek. "I used to think this soul was the worst thing that had ever happened to me. But if it wasn't for this cures I never could have met you like this. You gave a reason to exist, and now you are the reason I need to die." He brished his lips across her forehead, as the tears fell from her eyes. "This is my destiny. I'll never forget you."
"Angel...You have been the one good thing in my life. If it weren't for you, I don't know where I'd be, you're my only love; now and forever..." Buffy raised the stake.
"Remember me always."
"I will..." Squeezing her eys shut, Buffy plunged the stake into Angel's heart. "I will, my Angel."
Buffy woke up sobbing, sweat glistened on her body and her heart was punding in her chest. Buffy looked out into the darkness. 'I know you're out ther somewhere, please forgive me for what I must do. You'll always be my Angel, no matter what happens!"
