I don't think I will ever be able to come up with a decent list of nominees for this award.  Last year I could only come up with three nominees and I thought I was doing bad... well, this year I thought of a number so low it can only be tied in the future.  That's right, this year I only have one nominee for the Best Actress "Mikey" (well, this number could be beaten, but then there wouldn't be an award).  I wonder who is going to win.  Once again, I ask you to help me by sending me suggestions for who else I should nominate.



        And the 2000 Nominees for Best Actress in a Leading Role are...



                        In case you haven't noticed by my nominations so far, I loved American Beauty.  And what made the movie so good was all of the incredible acting, especially by the leads, Ms. Benning here and Kevin Spacey (who is nominated for the "Mikey" for Best Actor).  She portrayed the role of a woman trapped in a failing marriage as here husband starts to behave very strangely (at least as she sees it).  I have great respect for anyone who can bring this much honest humanity into their roles... and that is why Annette Benning gets the nod for this award.
