In fact, the only thing abnormal about Sidney's life is that about 1 year ago, her mother was violently murdered. Sidney witnessed someone leaving the house that night and later fingered the person to be Cotton Weary. Cotton was imprisoned for the rape and murder of Maureen Prescott. However, Cotton's side of the story is that he had a one night stand with Maureen and then left and was framed for the murder, but how believable is that.
As if this wasn't enough trauma in Sidney's life, a reporter, Gale Weathers, is now writing a book about the murder, stating that Sidney falsely identified Cotton. With all of this going on, it's a wonder Sidney still has her sanity. And to top it all off, Billy keeps pressuring her to have sex. I mean, he has been kinda patient, but she does have other things on her mind. A lot more. But at least she still has her friends, and her over protective father....
....Until....
One morning at school Sidney arrives to find a slew of reporters all over the place, including Gale Weathers. She learns from her friend, Tatum, that two of her classmates were murdered the night before. "And not just killed, we're talking splatter movie killed. Ripped open from end to end."
This Deja-Vu is a bit too much for Sidney. She better just lay low until her father comes back to town.
