Faked medium Madam Blanche and her boyfriend George
make a living from her powers.
An aging widow, Julia Rainbird offers a lot of money to
whom will find out her nephew who was given away after
his birth, following a family scandal.
Blanche and George discover that Mrs. Rainbird's nephew
is the jeweller Adamson who killed his parents and now uses
to kidnap rich people asking jewels for ransom.
To gain widow's $10000 Blanche and George start to watch
Adamson, but the man thinks they are detectives and he
captures the medium.
George enters Adamson's refuge and saves his girlfriend.

53rd and last Hitchcock's movie, "Family plot" is not a thriller
and black humor is its most interesting device.
Madam Blanche winking to the audience: that is the last shot of
Hitchcock's cinema.
