Richard Hannay is a Canadian visitor to London. At the end of "Mr Memory"'s
show in a music hall, he meets Annabella Smith who is running away from
secret agents. He accepts to hide her in his flat, but in the night she is murdered.
Before dying, she tells Richard the name of a Scottish land.
Fearing he could be accused on the girl's murder, Hannay goes on the run to break
the spy ring.
He soon discovers that Dr. Jordan is the head of the gang. He has forced Mr. Memory
to learn a top secret formula.
During another show, Richard asks Mr. Memory to confess, but Jordan kills him.
Before falling to death, the man reveals Jordan's secret.

This is a thriller movie owning some comedy's devices and full of stage effects.
Again we meet a man on the run who is investigating to prove his innocence and
again a secret is revealed by a spy who is dying.
