This is one of my senior project called Journey to the West. It is base on a well know Chinese myth story. I love this story since I was little boy. In Spring of 1998, I was a junior at my grad school because I am concentrated in character animation. Every students need to complete an animation with storytelling at the end of their senior year. At that time, I have no idea what do I want to do because whatever I do. It will take a long time to complete this final project before I graduated.

One day, I went back my parents' home and saw a live action TV series of Journey to the West. Then I realized that I can do this animation by using different media to tell the story. So, I decided to do Journey to the West in computer generated image. I told my friends I know what I'm doing for my senior project. After they know about the project, they kind thing is going to be cool. Also, it is kind of hard to put all the stuff together. So, I'm give it a try. The rest of Spring semester, I checked out the book from library for three months to learn more on the story. At the same time I am doing a research a 3D software for this project.

In Summer semester, the pre-production began. As soon as I'm finish the book, I found out that I couldn't tell the entire story. I could only do part of the story. Then I choose to do the battle between the Monkey King and the Bull Demon. I'm wrote the outline of the basic story. Then I'm put it into a script format.
