GFW 2006

Aug 2004

It was the final show in what was a glorious run. The Rod Gazinya Memorial show featured Rod Gazinya not only coming back for his own memorial but, winning the GFW championship from the man that ruled the GFW for the previous six months. Some say it wasn't fair by a long shot. Nobody ever disagreed with that statement. Dick Gazinya hand picked himself to be the special referee as he paid off Mr. Fabulous and Anastasia to be special enforcers. When the lights went out to see who the mystery opponent would be to challenge Jugernaut for the GFW championship everyone felt a swerve coming. It was the final opportunity to get the GFW title from Jugernaut before Dick sold the GFW out to the WoWc. It worked.

Mar 2005

At this point the GFW was just a name bought by Darren Zillaman to boost attendance figures. Dick Gazinya sold out and the worst part is that he had no regrets. Rod Gazinya would finally grow under the wings of Darren's promotion. Rod wouldn't be in the shadows of his older brother if he worked for the WoWc. That was about as far fetched as it could get. It was All or Nothing that spring. Without the GFW banner behind him, just the logo Rod Gazinya was beaten from pillar to post. Perhaps the worst beating of his career. He showed heart but, what is heart gonna do when your busted up taking shot after shot?

Rod Gazinya learned a valuable lesson that spring. From this day foward he was going to have to rely on no one but, himself. Would he swim in the wrestling sea or would he drown without that shadow following him around? Rod Gazinya failed at All or Nothing. He failed his brother, he failed the GFW name and he failed himself. Rod Gazinya lost the GFW championship and negated everything the Gazinya's worked for to preserve him as the GFW champion at the Memorial show.

Fall 2005

Rod went back to the drawing board. Another shot is all he needed he would tell himself. The GFW title would surely be around his waist once again. Under his new boss Darren Zillaman, Rod was entered in the Ringmaster tournament of 2005. The winner would face Jugernaut and at the very least, time had to be on Rod's side with the aging Jugernaut firmly holding on to the belt. Rod went through four grueling rounds. When the finals came down to Rod and the infamous Ichabod who fueded with his older brother back in the heyday of the WoW and nWo, there were two options. Rod would prevail and challenge Jugernaut one more time or Ichabod would smash Rod into the ground, go on to face Jugernaut, take the title and disgrace it in a way that the Gazinya's would never want to see happen. Well Rod somehow did what no one expected. It was almost a sure thing that the GFW legacy was over and Ichabod of all people would be the one to tarnish the legacy. But, not on Rod Gazinya's watch. Ringmaster brought out the very best in Rod Gazinya. He beat Ichabod and became the #1 contender once again.

Winter 2005

Before the WoWc could make the match happen, their ill fated new concept federation plummeted. Dick Gazinya retained his shares but, the other shares went on the market. An inside invester picked up 50% of the companies shares with hopes of bringing the promotion to the west coast. That invester was Jugernaut and his son Buddy Awesome. As the struggle unsued for control, one thing was sure. The first match schedule to go down would be Rod challenging the aging champion Jugernaut for the title.

Today

"I've waited too goddamn long Jugernaut. You may own half this company now but, I want my title shot! I want what I earned when I won Ringmaster. You can't get out of it even if you owned 100%. The opportunity is mine. It's been over a year since you took that belt from me and I'll be damned if you hold that belt past April 30th. I'm challenging you Jugernaut....I'm challenging you at GFW Gym Wars '06!"

A promotion is displayed advertising the match up as we cut to the voices of the GFW to give their insight.

The Doc- "This rivaly has been spread over two years. With Dick Gazinya owning half of the company and Jugernaut owning the other half along with the GFW championship, the playing field is for once even."

Ralph Lillard- "It's never even when you have to face a guy that's 6'10 and 1/2" tall and 300lbs Stevie. And age isn't a factor. If anything age is experience. If you thought Jugernaut gave Rod the beating of his life at All or Nothing I don't think you've seen anything yet!"

The hype continues. Finally the match will take place and you can watch the whole thing live on GFW.com's webcast. April 30th 2006.....the match that will bring the wrestling world back to it's feet after the collapse of the industry.

"Look goddammit.....I'm sick of this bullshit. I don't even want to be here. That's why I sold the promotion in the first place. Now I'm back defending the name and for what? Because I can't have some fucking asshole who has already destroyed my brothers GFW legacy destroy mine as well. Your title run Jugernaut is approaching the length of my title run back before the GFW was even on the map. I'm not gonna let that happen. You're not gonna beat my damn record and I'm gonna make goddamn sure of it. If Rod can't beat you, I'll find someone who will. And if I can't find someone who will, I'm gonna have to come back and do the the job myself! I have to protect the integrity of the the organization my late father built!"

Angered like never before, Dick Gazinya makes his intentions known. We cut back to the voices of the GFW.

The Doc- "Dick has got to be kidding. He hasn't wrestled a match in over three years! Surely someone is more fit to take the title than Dick."

Ralph Lillard- "There is one person that's more fit to take that title and that man is Rod Gazinya!"

"Jugernaut....I don't give a damn how big you are. I don't give one shit what you've done to me in the past. This is NOW and if I'm not good enough to beat you....if my skill is not enough to overcome your size then I'll have to find another way. Dick you deserved to enjoy the fruits of your success. As far as I'm concerned, you've laced your last pair of wrestling boots a long time ago. I'm taking care of this at Gym Wars! And I've got something up my sleeve that's gonna make sure without a doubt that belt comes home with me once and for all!"

The screen goes blank as familiar screams echoes. In the white a black image appears and a maniacle laughter rings out before the segment ends.
