Dave- Ladies and gentlemen I'm about to introduce to you, one of the most innovative superstars in the wrestling business today. The man who was ranked number one in the PWI top 500. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome one half of the WoW tag team champions, one half of the Nasty Dick Experience, the man, the myth, the legend, "Iron" Dick Gazinya aka Richard Gazinya from the famous Gazinya family!
A loud applause is heard as Richard Gazinya makes his way from behind a black curtain. Dick wears a fine dark blue Armani suit with a gold rolex, a cleanly shaven head, and dark sunglasses. The only thing different now is that Dick doesn't wear a bandage over his head from his recent accident. However, there is a large gash on the top of his head which seems to be healing up. Dick acknowledges the crowd and makes his way to his seat after shaking Meltzer's hand.
Dave- Thanks for joining me...Dick. (laughing) Should I call you that or do you prefer to be called anything else?
Dick- No, no. Dick is fine by me, after all that is what my fans call me and that's what all the ladies love.
Dave- Ok then Dick. First off, congratulations on being named number one in the 2002 PWI top 500 rankings. That's one hell of an accomplishment. I know you must be proud carrying on the tradition in your family. How do you feel about becoming the first, second genration star to be named with such an honor?
Dick reaches up and takes off his sunglasses, revealing a bloodshot eye and a missing eyebrow. He places them in his jacket pockett as Dave tries not to stare at his face as Dick speaks.
Dick- First off, it's really no big deal. The only reason that really makes it mean something is the fact that my father has trained and conditioned me from a young age to be a superstar in this business. In all actuality though, I'm a totally different athlete than my father "Animal" Gazinya. He was a great talent in his days but the business has gone so far beyond what it used to be. Today there's a never ending supply of great talent and it's a great honor to be considered the absolute best according to the well respected PWI magazine.
Dave- You've certainly proved your worth in this business and it's a shame that no promoter has centered their promotion around you and given you a healthy run with their world title belt. How do you respond to all the critics and the past promoters who held you down to promote their so called "golden boys"?
Dick- Ever since I entered this business, I've fought the top dogs in each promotion that I've been with. I don't really have any explanation as to why I haven't been given my due but I can honestly say that after all the hard work and years in this business that I have payed my dues. There was a lot of backstage politics in past federations. Your right, they wanted to use me to elevate their so-called "golden boys" but that didn't bother me. I'm a professional and I'll do what's best for business. I'm just glad that everything is done, all the games are over and I've finally found the home I've been looking for in the WoW!
Dave scans through some notes before asking his next question.
Dave- Well that would be an understatement at least. Since entering the WoW, you picked up right where you left off comprising one of the most original and technically gifted teams to ever grace a wrestling ring. The Nasty Dick Experience has completely changed the face of tag team wrestling as we know it. Once you entered the WoW, you along with longtime wrestling aquaintance, "Nasty" Nester DeFranco were given the opportunity to shape up the tag team division and that's something I know you really and Nester are real proud of. Where do you see the future of the tag teaming in wrestling?
Dick- We've done alot for tag team wrestling, there's no doubt about that. Now I don't know where we are headed. Right now it's basically, "give the fans what they want" type of attitude and that's exactly what they want. They like our style and who can blame them. If I was sitting at home watching us, I would do the same. As for where tag team wrestling will be going in the future? It's hard to tell. I want to go off in a singles career but I don't want to leave the tag team ranks at least until someone can upseat us from our tag team titles. There's nothing wrong with competing with both. Actually in my oppinion, it adds a lot of prestige to the tag team titles, something that has lacked over the years.
Dave- Now the WoW has a big pay-per-view event coming up. It's called Gladiator as most people know and it's quite an innovative event. Two men start. The only way to be eliminated is to throw your opponent over the top rope to the floor. Now, no more than two men can be in the ring at once. When someone is eliminated, another participant enters and the eliminated become the men to destroy the men yet to enter. It's quite akward. It's hard to say whether someone would want to draw number one or two and go through the roster one at a time or enter late and have to fight your way to the ring. it was first thought, that the winner would go on to Target Locked to face the champion but rumors have been circulating that the winner of Gladiator will become the new champion. Now you've been out of action for the past few weeks due to an accident but your return date is etched in stone for Gladiator. Your thoughts on the accident and the opportunity to win the second annual Gladiator tournament?
Dick- Well this is definetly something I would love to add to my resume. Gladiator champion, and the WoW heavyweight champion. It has a nice ring to it, don't you think? As far as the accident goes, I'm doing great. I've used my off time to train and get bigger and stronger. Right now, I'm in the best shape of my career. My porn career might not be so certain but that leaves me all the more time to concentrate on the WoW and my opponents. Also there seems to be a lot of hype going into Gladiator upon my return. Apparently all the "Dick-heads" have missed out on their fix of Dick-o-mania and they are looking foward to seeing what Dick Gazinya and the Nasty Dick Experience have in store for this spectacle of an event and the return of yours truly. As for the rules of the tournament and the awkwardness as you call it. It's hard to say what you want to draw when it concerns Gladiator but the fun thing is that nobody knows what they are going to draw. It's a big surprise but the Nasty Dick Experience and Dr. Williams along with our fellow midget pals, the Little Dick Experience have a sure proof plan that ought to set the wrestling world on fire come Gladiator. It's really no concern as to what number I draw. The only people who are going to be concerned are the fans as they sit in anticipation of the return of Dick Gazinya!
Dave smiles as he looks down to his notepad once more before speaking.
Dave- Ok, we're going to try something else here. How about a little word association?
Dick- Go ahead and shoot.
Dave- Since he's right out there as a major force in Gladiator, lets start with Ichabod, the Evil Redneck as they call him.
Dick- Ichabod is a wacko first thing. He's got things wrong with him and quite frankly I think he should listen to his doctors and not compete in Gladiator. After all, why go out there to risk your career when you know you have no chance of winning this thing. You may be a fighter but it's going to prove to be a stupid move if it comes down to you and me in there at Gladiator!
Dave- Strong words, how about Prez Darren?
Dick- He's a great guy. Sure we play it out a little different on tv but the fact is, he lets us be who we are. He sees the crowd response we get and he adheres to that response in his decision making process. I'm glad I'm working for Darren, he has a great mind for this business. We'll see him back in the WoW, you can count on that.
Dave- How about VP Thomas?
Dick- I don't know too much about Thomas. He's always treated me with respect but I really don't know much else to say.
Dave- How about B-Pac?
Dick- I'm glad the Nasty Dick poison storyline didn't force B-Pac out of the WoW. He's a very talented performer and I'm glad that I may still have the opportunity to run a program with him but as far as I'm concerned, he better think about who he's dealing with if we meet at Gladiator. I'm a bigger star than B-Pac will ever be and that just eats him alive to see the Nasty Dick Experience steal his so-called "show"!
Dave- Smoke Dawg?
Dick- He's a tough competitor. He's the kind of locker room leader the WoW needs. I'm glad to be in association with him here in the WoW and look foward to working with him down the road also.
Dave- How about WoW Heavyweight champion himself, Brother Brimstone?
Dick- I've had the opportunity to face off with him many times here in the WoW. We've made the best of our outings and let me tell you, he's in tremendous shape for his age. Come Gladiator, Brother Brimstone is gonna find out that I am the better man just like I have proved countless times to him in our encounters.
Dave- Your partner in crime, Nester DeFranco?
Dick- Rowdy! He's the Nastiest son of a bitch the wrestling world has seen and there's more that they are gonna see. You know he's come along way in this business. I'm proud to be his teammate and hold the tag team titles with someone who has so much heart for this business and desire to be innovative in times where innovativeness is sometimes overlooked.
Dave- How about the newly formed faction of brothers, the bWo?
Dick- They crack me up. They remind me of what old school heels used to be and I think they have a promising career ahead of them in the tag team ranks.
Dave- Newly crowned Intercontinental champion, Selena?
Dick laughs for a moment then speaks his opinion.
Dick- She's definetely talented but I think she might also have some other noteworthy qualities. After all she might just be the next fair lady to star in my first porn film since the accident if everything goes right.
Dave- (laughing) Ok, how about Rage, TormenT, and the rest of the bunch that form the new generation?
Dick- I've worked a lot with those guys upon my acceptance here and they are all a bunch of hungry young talent. They improve week in and week out. One day they might just make it to superstardom, although the names are kinda lame but they can make adjustments.
Dave- Ok, I think we covered everthing. Thanks for joining me here for this special one-on-one interview and I hope things go well in your career, especially your return and the upcoming Gladiator tournament. It's always a pleasure to interview someone of your stature and it's and honor to be here with PWI's number one pick for the top 500 of 2002. Thanks again Dick!
Dick shakes Meltzers hand as the scene fades to black. Once the screen is all black, the words "Richard Gazinya returns at Gladiator" appear on the screen before the segment comes to a close.
