The Orchestra Plays Its Last Song
Walace Hartley, the leader of the orchestra turns his head and replies to his other players, "That should do it, then." The other players nod in acknowledgment and start to walk away. Hartley picks up his violin and gingerly places it under his chin. Then, he plays the song "Nearer My God To Thee." The other players hear and rejoin this lone player to complete this beautiful song. The scenery chanes, and we start to witness different places on the ship where people settle down and prepare to die. That's when I started to cry. At first it was the beautiful music that got to me, then the shots of the two old people embracing in bed, the mother reading her children to sleep, and Mr. Gungenhein sitting in his chair, dressed in his best and watching the water come raging towards him. Then, it was the combination of both. You couldn't have the same emotions if it was just the music or just the scenes. It had to be both combined, and after this scene I was a basketcase.
Rose Surfaces From the Ocean and Can't Find Jack
When Titanic goes down, you see Jack trying to help pull Rose up to the surface, then you see a strong current break them apart and pull Jack bellow. Rose comes up to the surface and starts to search for him. I really thought that Jack was gone. I remember that my face got all scruntched up and tears started to pour down.
Rose Let's Go of Jack's Hand
Rose is lying on the door floating above the water and singing to herself, "Come, Josephine, On My Flying Machine". She's sees the boat by her, calling out in an eerie and slow voice, "Is there anyone alive out there? Can anyone here me?" She tries to wake Jack, but then learns that he is dead. She blows on his hand and then lets go, saying, "I'll never let go, Jack, I'll never let go." What you see next is Jack's pale body sinking down into the depths of the ocean. Just thinking about that part now makes me get a little damp in the eyes. Can you imagine how that must have felt to see a loved on go to the bottom of the ocean? I close my eyes and I still see this image.
Rose Dies and Meets Up With Jack
The old Rose dies, and all of a sudden you are taken into the Titanic through her eyes. She comes to the main staircase and you see everyone that died on the ship. Mr. Andrews stands slightly apart from the rest and gives a reasuring smile. Then up at the top of the staircase she sees Jack looking at the clock. They kiss, and everyone in the staircase clap. It is just the fact that their relationship has finally been accepted that makes me cry. She had to die before she could be in Jack's arms again. They loved each other, and now they could finally be accepted and be happy together.
