Passions Fire
chapter 1

The day was one of joy and one of sadness. Marlena had just gotten back the
results of the blood test. She now knows that Belle is John's child.
She was elated but also sad. She didn't want to hurt Roman but Marlena
wanted with all her heart for Belle to be John's child..
Belle was to of been christened a few short hours ago. Marlena, having
found out who the baby's father is that morning, could not lie in church.
Marlena had to tell everyone that Roman was not the father. That one
admission had changed so many lives. Marlena's world has been turned upside
down.
The revelation hurt so many people, especially Roman. She was a young
mother with a new born baby. Marlena had a loving husband and three older
children. A perfect loving family what more could anyone want?
With one small admission her husband and children were gone. The once
loving family was now gone to her. Now she was alone with a basterd child.
The pain was incredible.
Her husband, who she adored had turned his back on her and the new born.
Her home and family had been taken away. Doc you have two hours to pack all
your things and get out. Take that child with you. Marlena looked at Roman
in astonishment. She felt that her life was over. She had no place to go.
Marlena took the child, and with tears running down her cheeks ran out of
the church.
Marlena returned to the house they shared. The house they had raised there
children in. this house holds so many memories, so much of my life. Marlena
walked around the house one last time. She got down a suitcase and began to
pack and the tears were streaming down her cheeks.
Belle, sweetie what are we going to do? Maybe if we go to a hotel tonight I
can talk to Roman in the morning. He will of cooled off by then. Belle
sensing the turmoil in her mother cried and wanted to be comforted. Marlena
picked up the child. Baby no matter what I have done there is no reason
that you should have to suffer for my mistakes.
She pulled the infant to her chest, sat in the rocker and sang to the
child. The baby was hungry and wanted to nurse. Marlena was lost in the
moment as. she sang and rocked her child.
 

Chapter 2
Marlena was not feeling well had returned Belle to the bassinet. Within a
few moments she decided it was more than just an ill feeling. Marlena stood
and walked over to the phone. She called 911 and passed out.
John had been at the church and wanted to comfort Doc but she left so fast.
John tried to catch her but she was too upset and didn't see him as she
drove out of the parking lot.
John decided to go over to the house for Doc and his baby. His baby. Oh Doc
that news made me so happy. John was prepared for a confrontation with
Roman but hoped it wouldn't come to that.
Hang on Doc I am coming for you and Belle.  It was his child. She had
denied it but somehow he just knew. He would have the woman he loved and
the child he prayed was his.
As he arrived at the house he saw the ambulance. His heart skipped a beat
and he rushed into the house. Doc was laying on the floor in a pool of
blood and was unconscious. The crying baby was being held by the paramedic.
No Doc. Doc do you hear me? Is she alive?
Sir is this your wife? Yes what happened? We just arrived and found her.
Did she have any difficulties with the birth? Not that I know of. Sir how
old is the baby?
She is two weeks old. Who is her doctor? Dr. Bader. O.K. let's call and
alert her that she is coming in. What is the problem? Why doesn't she wake
up? Sir it appears your wife has lost allot of blood and is hemorrhaging we
need to get her to the hospital. Can I come with her? Sure you can take the
baby and ride up front.
Several minutes later they arrive at the ER. Marlena is pushed into an
examining room and John has to wait in the lounge. The baby cries and is
hungry. Realizing he didn't pack a diaper bag John takes her to the
nursery. My wife was just brought in and I didn't have time to get a bottle
before we left can I get something here?
This is Dr. Evans baby isn't it? Yes, well why don't you just let her stay
here and we will take care of her till her momma is better. I hope it's
nothing serious. I hope not too Thanks.
 
 

Chapter 3
John returns to Doc. Dr. Bader what is the problem? John I have to tell her
husband and it will be up to him as to weather or not he wants to tell you.
Roman is on his way? Yes. Dr. Bader you know me, Roman threw her out
tonight. He doesn't care.
John he is legally her husband any treatment and care is his responsibility
not yours I am sorry. If she was awake things might be different. John
retreats in anger. Dam him. This is all his fault.
Roman arrives at the hospital and is enraged to find John there. John get
out.
I don't want you here. I am staying. Why are you here? You just threw Doc.
out. That John is none of your business now leave or I will have you
forcibly removed. Haven't you and Marlena done enough to ruin our family?
John reluctantly leaves. And don't come back. John goes just outside the
door and cries. What does he care he just told her to get out.
What kind of a man tells his wife and newborn to get out?
Dr. Bader approaches Roman, Marlena started to hemorrhage several hours ago
by the time the paramedics arrived she had lost half of the blood in her
body. She is pretty weak. Will she be all right?
With proper care yes she should. I need your permission to do a blood
transfusion. Yea what ever. Just patch her up and get her out of here and
don't call me again. Roman, are you all right? Yea why? Oh no reason.
A very surprised Dr. Bader leaves to go and tend to Marlena. Roman leaves
the hospital. John can see quite clearly from where he is hiding that Roman
has left.
John returns and sneaks into see Doc. He goes in, sits by her bed and holds
her hand. Doc if you can hear me I want you to know that I love you and the
baby. You and Belle will always be protected and taken care of. I have
always loved you and I always will. Dr. Badger returns with the blood for
Marlena.
John I don't think this is a good idea you being here. Doctor Bader You
just saw, Roman wants nothing to do with her. I love her and I will do
anything for her please, let me stay. Well she does seem to respond to your
voice. O.K., but just for now.
 

Chapter 4
Dr. Bader, Roman walked out on Doc tonight and told her to pack and get out
of the house. He wanted her gone when he got back. Oh now his remark made
sense. What did he say?
He told me to do what ever I had to do but not to bother him again. Dr.
Bader I love her more than life itself and I will be taking care of her now
and forever. Please……. tell me what is wrong?
 John she was hemorrhaging and lost half of the blood in her body. Has she
been under allot of stress? Yea Dr more than anyone should have to handle.
You see Belle is mine. Oh!
I am going to start the blood transfusion now but she will need much more.
Can I give blood? Sure John, I want to transfuse her as soon as I can. Will
she be O.K.? I think if I can get her blood replaced and the stress level
lowered she will have a pretty good chance of that. Well let's do it. John
goes down and donates.
Doc regains consciences and wakes to find John sitting next to her holding
her hand. He is sleeping and she thanks God she is not alone. Softly she
talks to him.
Oh John I am so confused. My life has been shattered and yet you are here
to pick up the pieces. The tears slide down her face. I love Roman and I
didn't mean to hurt him but I can't denigh I love you, always have always
will. I am glad Belle is yours, but I didn't want it to cause so much pain.
Belle, where is Belle.
John, John she shakes him to wake him up. Where is Belle I remember holding
her and then. John wakes. Doc, sh...............just rest. Belle where is
she? She is in the nursery here she is fine. You just rest. Oh John I am so
sorry. Sh...................Doc you have nothing to be sorry for.
Just rest. Doc I love you, always have always will. Now dry those tears and
think happy thoughts. How can I John, I have made such a mess of so many
lives. No, No Doc don't think about that.
John, you shouldn't be here. Roman is going to be mad if he finds you here.
Doc, he has already been here and left.
 
 

Chapter 5
Oh, I guess he doesn't want to see me does he. I am sorry Doc, but no he
doesn't. She turns her head away from him and lets the tears slide down her
cheeks. John gently turns her head back.
That is not important now Doc, the important thing is for you to rest. You
need your rest and you need to know that I will always love you.
Now you try to sleep, O.K.. John holds one hand and brushes the hair out of
her eyes with the other.
John leans over and gives her a kiss on the cheek.
We will sort all this out when you feel better. She looks at him and drifts
off to sleep. Oh Doc, I could kill him for being so mean to you. This is
all his fault and I will never forgive him for this.
Dr. Bader stops in to check on Doc. John I am sorry about our rough
beginning but I thank you for being here for her.
With all the stress she has been under I don't think she would be able to
handle all of this with out you. I didn't understand the circumstances when
she was first brought in. Dr. Bader will she be all right?
Baring any infections she should do fine. Why did this happen? Was it all
from stress? Stress and not taking care of herself. You know Marlena, she
always puts everyone else's well fare before her own.
Then you think she will be all right? If she rests and doesn't try to push
herself she should make a full recovery but the stress has to be
eliminated. She can't handle it now. Marlena wakes and hears part of the
conservation.
What can't I handle?
Doc, Dr. Bader was just telling me that you have to get allot of rest and
eliminate some of the stress. That may be easier said than done John. Well
I am going to help you do just that.
Doc your life depends on it and I won't let anything happen to you. In case
you forgot I love you.
John, I am married to Roman and he is my first priority. Doc, he doesn't
want you or the baby. John I will have to deal with that. Not now, you have
to relax and rest.
John you shouldn't be here. Roman won't come if you are here and I have to
work things out with him what ever the outcome. Don't you see that? John,
please leave.
