Chapter 26

John returns to the room one more time to say good by.
 She's she's alive, she's alive. Mike runs in to check. John you just got
your miracle
Gradually her vitals come back to normal. John is estactic, how Mike, how?
I don't know John but if she continues to improve she should be awake in an
hour or so.
 Mike it had to have had something to do with the injection the nurse gave
her just before she came back to me. What nurse John? I didn't order an
injection for her. Steffino!!  I never thought I would be saying this but
thanks old man, thanks.
Doc opens her eyes. John, I am right here sweetheart. John cradle's her in
his arms. I am so glad you came back to me. I love you so much Doc.
Marlena continues to improve over the next several days.
John's cell phone rings Hello! This is John, Abe, John we have had another
fire at one of Steffino's holdings it's been torched.
 The description of the person seen at the fire is Marlena's or her twin. I
know that it wasn't Doc Abe she almost died tonight. Steffino saved her.
Steffino? I think so.
 Mike said she was gone but a nurse that no one seems to recognize gave her
and injection and she came back to me. Sounds like Steffino's style. But if
someone who looks like Doc is torching his holdings and destroying all his
records he must know it's not Doc.
 He may however know who is doing it.
John picks Doc up at the hospital and takes her home. John this isn't the
way to our house. I know Doc but I have a surprise for you. John drives her
and Belle to the airport. John why are we at the airport?
 Well the jet will be our next mode of travel. Come Doc let me help you up
the steps. John had remodel the jet.
There was a large bed in the middle of the room. off to the side was a
small grouping of chairs and a  table. The room was decorated in white and
adorned with flowers.
White roses and lilacs. Oh! John this is beautiful. Welcome aboard Doc.
John takes her coat and lays her down on the bed. He picks up the phone.
Charles everyone is aboard we can leave as soon as you are ready.
 Very good sir. Now Doc you have my undivided attention. John this is
beautiful but you have to tell me where are we going? Told you  Doc it is a
surprise.


 

Chapter 27
 Now I think your neck needs to be kissed. John kisses her neck and her
lips. John gently slides her dress off. Now Doc that is a little better.
Um....................but I think we can make it even better. He slides her
bra and panties off and they too fall to the floor.
 Oh, O........................Doc unbuttons John's pants and slides them
off. She slides her hands down his back and across his bottom. Oh
John.................
John is kissing her neck and slowly makes his way down. Marlena shivers and
moves closer to John. Oh John............................ John has caressed
her every part and Doc's breathing quickens.
 John can tell she is enjoying what he is doing. I know what you like  Doc
and how to bring pleasure to you. Oh.........................John is
bringing her along building her passion and desire. Ever so slowly he plays
with her keeping her just below satisfaction
Um...........uo............. John you are teasing me. No my love I am
letting you experience the power and wonder of this love. I want to
pleasure you and love you for a long long time. Oh.................John.
her breath and pulse are quickening and John's own desire can no longer be
held back.
His body too demands the feel of her. The special place she provides for
him. The two lovers share the most loving experience.
With the after glow of love on there faces and sparkle in there eyes they
lay in each others arms.
John that was incredible. I am to please my love.
Belle must know when we are finished because she always picks that time to
get fussy and want to nurse.
Come here baby. Marlena starts to get up and John hands her a box. What is
this? Open it. John this is breath taking. John had given her a nightgown
to put on. It's so soft and pretty.
 Doc puts it on and picks up Belle. She brings Belle into bed with them to
feed. her Doc I love you. After several hours they land in Paris. John had
given her a dress the prettiest one she ever saw to put on.
She did her hair up piled on top of her head .The plane is met by a limo
and a nanny for Belle. John escorts Doc to the limo. They are sped away to
a very elegant restaurant. Oh John Paris?
I wanted dinner to be something you would always remember.
 They eat and dance the night away. In the wee hours of the morning they
board the jet to fly home.
 


Chapter 28
When Doc arrived at the penthouse the divorce papers had been delivered.
Doc sees them and cry's. Oh Roman why why this. I so hoped we could work
things out one day. John realizes what she has and gives her a kiss and
leaves her alone. You need time to think Doc.
To think by yourself.
Marlena cry's herself to sleep thinking about Roman. In the morning she
knows the only decision is to sign the papers.
She goes to the desk to get a pen and sees a small gold crown. Marlena
picks up the phone John, what's wrong Doc?
 John can you come over right away. Be there in a minute. John arrives to
find Doc is hysterical and crying. John he is here, he was in my house. Doc
calm down and tell me what has you so upset.
 John I found this in the drawer. John puts his arms around her and
consoles her. Ill have security here right away don't worry Doc he won't
get you.
Doc come over here and sit. John just hold me.
It's going to be all right. How does he get in? We are going to change your
security code and there will be a man inside here at all times.
Let me call Abe Doc. Abe, Marlena found another one of the crowns in the
penthouse when we got back. John we have a picture of the person that has
been torching the properties. It came off the surveillance cameras.
 Were you able to get an id?
 Well John your not going to believe this. The picture is Marlena. Marlena?
Told you, you wouldn't believe me. But we know it couldn't be her. John
come down and see for yourself. OK Abe be right there. John goes to the
office.
Well Abe this picture sure looks like Doc but how can that be? I don't know
John but if she keeps setting fires were not going to have any proof of
Steffino's crimes. Did that tape give us any clues?
I haven't looked at it yet. John pops it in the VCR and they watch. The
tape shows all of the activity DR Marks told them about but the woman is
not Marlena.
The tape also showed several children dancing and playing in a garden. Well
John what do you think? Well for starters apparently Marlena wasn't the
only woman involved. If we can find this one we may have a case. But Abe
the tape is 3 years old. And what about the kids? What do they have to do
with anything?
I think I want to stake out his remaining warehouse. Good idea John. Let me
go and check on Doc and I'll meet you at the site. Doc is going to come
with us that way there will be no mistake about where she is.
The three are sitting in a car outside of the warehouse. See anything yet
John? No Abe, wait there is some activity on the left of the warehouse.
Lets move in Abe.
You stay in the car Doc. John and Abe surround the warehouse and move in
slowly. Inside they see Steffino and Marlena talking. John is thinking Doc
I told you to stay in the car.
 Well he is not going to take you again. John moves in and struggles  with
Steffino and a gun. The gun goes off. It misses and John brings Steffino to
his knees. Doc are you all right?

Chapter 29
 No answer. Doc I told you to stay in the car why did you get out? No
answer. Doc! It's all over now you don't have to worry about him taking you
again.
Out in the car Marlena hears the gun shot and goes to find John. John puts
his arms around Doc and assures her that it is over.
 He is about to kiss her when Doc walks in the door. John doesn't know what
to do. Abe do you see what I see?
Yep. and don't ask me. John looks and Marlena looks. It's like looking in a
mirror. They are exactly a like. John this is down right spooky. Steffino
is laughing Quite a problem hu................... gentlemen!
 Who was Marlena really with? What have you done Steffino? I have done
nothing. But there are two of them. OK John who is Doc? I don't know they
both look like her.
 Wait a minute DR Marks said something about cloning. Could this be one.?
Yes but which one is real?  Abe there has to be some difference doesn't
there? Steffino is laughing.
 He grabs Marlena's arm and they leave the building. Abe they are getting
away. They chase the pair but Steffino has a chopper waiting and they get
away.
John did he take Doc or the clone? I don't know .Marlena try's to convince
John and Abe that she is the real one.
Let's go home and we can sort this out in the morning. John drops Doc off
at her apartment and parks the car.. Doc Belle wants to be fed.
Doc goes into the nursery and sits in the rocking chair to feed Belle. She
sings and rocks the tiny baby as she eats. John seeing this believes she is
the real Doc. John calls Abe. Abe I think I have Doc.
 Why John? Well she is sitting in the rocking chair feeding the baby.
Remember Dr. Marks said Steffino's clones could not reproduce? Yea, well if
they can't reproduce they can't feed a baby.
Good point but then why would Steffino take the clone when he wants
Marlena. He has always wanted Marlena I can't imagine him settling for a
clone. Could be that he hasn't perfected the process yet. He could have
some bugs to work out.
This may solve the fires too. This could be why the woman looks like
Marlena. When you clone isn't the behavior the same too. Our Doc would
never torch a building. But a clone might. Brings up some very interesting
possibilities.
Let me know if you come up with anything I will be at Doc's.
John, John I am here Doc. John I am so frightened. It's all right Doc ill
be staying here with you for a while.
 I won't let Steffino get you again. John cradle's her in his arms and
holds her for a long long time.

Chapter 30
Marlena finally falls asleep and John lays her down on the bed. He is just
about to leave and  No No  don't do it . not again. Leave me alone. Please
Doc Doc wake up it is just a bad dream.
 John, the dream was so vivid I could see everything. John, Steffino he he
I know Doc I know. It doesn't matter don't think about it. I love you and
you are here safe with me. Oh John I love you so much.
The next morning a package arrives for Marlena. Sign here please. Doc looks
puzzled. What is that Doc?
 I don't know John. Marlena opens the package and cry's. Doc what is wrong?
John it's the divorce papers. The divorce is final. Oh Roman why didn't you
stay and work things through?
John consoles her. She puts the papers in the draw and closes that part of
her life.
What do you say we go out dancing tonight? Oh John that sounds great.
Well you go get your bath and I'll be up in a minute to wash your back.. If
you do that John we will never get dinner. Now scoot.
John calls the dress shop and has the dress he had seen sent to the
penthouse. Next he called the jewelers and told them what he wanted and
that too was delivered to the penthouse.
 John takes the dress and lays it down on the bed for her. He goes down
stairs and waits for her to come down .Doc gets out of the bath and sees
the dress. Oh how beautiful.
 John you always had good taste. She dresses and piles her hair up in the
back. She applies her makeup and takes one last look at herself. Oh John
can you see how much I love you? She is radiant and her cheeks have just
the right amount of blush on them. Her eyes sparkle. She comes down the
stairs and John is speechless.
 She is so beautiful. She looks like an angel. That was worth waiting for.
I am glad you like it. John thank you this dress is gorgeous. Well as
pretty as it is there is something missing.
 John hands her a box. I think this will do the trick. Doc opens the box
and sees a necklace of diamonds. Oh John!!!
This is too much. No Doc, nothing is too much for you. John takes the
necklace and puts it on her. All the diamonds are cut in hearts. Now Doc
you will have a reminder that my heart is always with you.
 Oh John how sweet. The limo pulls up in front.
 John helps her into the car. The limo drops them off at the Regency Hotel.
The couple enjoy a romantic night of dinner and dancing. John I have never
been so happy. I never want this night to end. I was hoping you would say
that. Our room is right upstairs shall we go?
