John tosses the garter into the air and it is caught by DR Marks. Marlena
throws her bouquet and it is caught by Laura. The couple look radiant and
can't wait to get somewhere alone.
 They duck out a side entrance and are picked up by the limo. Where to sir?
Just drive.
 John puts the privacy window up and proceeds to undress Doc. I can't wait
to see you naked, to feel your soft skin and caress you.
 To smell you and eat you god I love you Doc. Marlena has John's clothes
off in record time too. They kiss and caress bringing each to the pinnacle
of desire then releasing in her. OH Marlena.

 The honeymoon takes place in a castle on the moors of Scotland.
 Oh John I know tomorrow is our last day but I have been in heaven.
 Thank you The happy couple arrive in Salem and the car takes them to the
penthouse. Doc we need to look for a house.
Now that Belle and Brady are bigger they need a place to play. We can start
looking soon. Belle is toddling around the penthouse. Marlena enters and
scoops her up in her arms.
 Hey little punkin I missed you. Look at how big you have gotten. The baby
squeals in delight. All too soon they settle into a routine. Doc I need to
check in with Abe and see what has developed. John, I will be at the
hospital for another hour or so. I will see you at home.
At the police station: John we got an id on the body in the loft fire.
That's great Abe who is it? The fingerprints are Marlena's oh not again.
Well I guess the clone is gone. I guess there hasn't been anymore fires
then. We had two while you were gone.
Abe this doesn't make sense. I thought you said the clone was dead in the
loft fire? She was.
 Well then the two other fires aren't related then? We have pictures of
Marlena at the other two fires too. You mean there is more than one clone?
I don't know any other solution.
Have you found the woman on the tape? No not yet. And the children? Well
John I wanted to run by a scenario Bo came up with concerning the kids. OK
Bo had stills made of all the children, then we studied  them and have made
some observations.
Look at the two children here. My Go,  Abe they look like Marlena. That is
what we thought but Marlena would know if she had other kids. Steffino was
playing with clone's and they could be clones. But suppose they aren't.

Chapter 37
This is going to freak her out. Pretty scary hun. This is too much to
digest and I need to talk to Doc. John leaves to go home.
Doc arrives home just before John. Hunny we have tomorrow evening to
ourselves Ellen is taking the kids to the zoo and then to Carolyn's want to
plan something special? Sounds like a great idea. John looks so serious
when he arrives home. John is there a problem?
Doc have you remembered anything when you had your session with Laura? Not
much yet why do you ask? I called Laura and asked her to come over. Why?
I need to find out some things and I think it would be best if she were
here. Now you are scaring me. Doc Bo took some stills off the viedo and I
want you to look at them.
There just pictures John what is the big deal? Doorbell. Hi Laura, John,
Marlena. Laura how do you want to proceed? I think I should put her under
and see her reaction.
Hey John, Laura you are scaring me. Just give me the pictures and let me
see them. Marlena I don't really want to do that. Will you just follow my
lead? We have been friends for a lifetime, I wouldn't do anything to hurt
you  trust me Marlena.
Well all right. Laura puts her under and John takes out one of the
pictures. Marlena, can you tell me who is the child in this picture? Sure
that is Carrie  no Marlena think it isn't Carrie.
Marlena studies it for a minute and screams. The tears  fall down her
cheeks and she becomes irrational. John I have to bring her out we aren't
going to be able to do this this way.
Marlena runs her hand over the picture and becomes very quite. Marlena do
you know who this child is? Yes but she didn't grow up. She wasn't this
old. Marlena what is the babies name?
 She was Jenny and her sister was Amanda. She had a sister? Yes they were
twins but they didn't grow up. Marlena who is there mother? No no I can't
he told me I must never tell. Who is there father?
They didn't grow up. John I think this is enough  for her to do now. OK
Laura thanks. Marlena can you wake up? Yes. How do you feel? I don't feel
good. With that she ran to the bathroom and throws up.
 John follows. Are you OK Doc? In a minute John. A few minutes later she
comes back. Was I able to help at all. Well Doc you did and you didn't .but
Laura thinks that you have had enough for today.

Chapter 38
Would you like to go lay down? I think I will take you up on that. I am
going to be sick again. Doc retreats to bed and John and Laura try to make
sense out of what they heard.
What do you think Laura? Well the subject upsets her a great deal and I
think she assumes the children are dead. Now who's children they are I am
afraid we still don't know.
Laura the thing that bothers me is that if they were dead then how could
this picture been taken? This child is about 3. I don't know John, unless
.......................what? unless for some reason she was told they were
dead and they aren't.
But where are they and who there mother and father are is still a mystery.
Where did you get this picture? Bo took it off a tape we found in
Steffino's plane. John we can try again in a few days. Let her rest now.

John goes up to check  on Doc. She is sleeping now and he doesn't want to
disturb her. Ellen I am going to commander Carver's would you call me when
Doc wakes up.

At the police station
John how did you make out with the session? Well the children's names are
Jenny and Amanda they are twins and Doc assumes that they are dead. Now
with Steffino anything is possible.
Well if they are dead then how was this picture taken? Laura thinks they
may still be alive but for some reason she was told they died. As to there
parents we don't know.
Marlena acted very protective  like a  mother so I think now they may be or
have been hers.
She how ever has no conscious knowledge of them. If that is the case John
what are you saying? If what doctor Marks said is true they could be
Marlena's and Steffino's.
I swear I am going to kill that bleep. But the woman on the tape is not
Marlena and she is the only one we know for sure was raped and eggs taken
from. Steffino puts Marlena on a pedestal
I can't see him doing this to her. I pray you are right Abe.
Marlena wakes to a scream and Ellen calls John. Hello  hello  John hears
the blood curtailing scream and takes off running. Doc!
When John arrives home she is still screaming. John takes her in his arms
and she settles down. Ellen what started this.
I don't know sir. OK thanks. Doc can you talk to me now? What did you
remember? John it was horrible.
 OK Doc calm down and take one step at a time. John there are two children,
I am at there funeral.
I am standing there holding the blankets we found at Carrie's. John it was
horrible. It's only a dream Doc. Nothing is going to hurt you. John I am
going to be sick again.

Chapter 39
 John lets her go but he is concerned. Doc do you feel OK? You seem to be
sick allot. She stands and walks out of the bathroom. The whole room spins
and John races to reach her before she hits the floor
John puts her on the bed. She wakes. Doc are you sure you are all right?
Yes John I am fine
Why are you sick and now passing out? That doesn't seem like you are all
right to me. I am fine and she proceeds to kiss him.
John kisses her neck and down her arms. He explores her body and  sets it a
fire. Marlena draws him into the fire of passion. The fire burns engulfing
them in the blaze.
 The fire burns hotter and hotter.
The body needs to be quenched and as John gives himself to her the fire
slowly subsides. They lay in each others arms and sleep.
At the police station:
Abe, BO let's go over what we have and try to make some sense out of it.
We know Steffino was doing some weird stuff. There is one woman involved,
that we know of.
His holdings are being torched. There is at least one clone that died in
the fire. Carrie had acid thrown at her. The loft was burned down. What is
the common denominator that we are missing?
Steffino!! The phone rings. This is Carver, OK we will be right there.
What's up Abe. We just got word that your house is on fire John. With that
the threesome are out the door.
By the time they got there they had Ellen, Belle and Brady in the
ambulance. Where is Doc? Doc, sir, is this your house? Yes and where is my
wife? Sir we have one other person in the fire but she didn't make it.
What did you say?
I am sorry sir but the woman was dead when we pulled her out. If it hadn't
been for her these three wouldn't of made it out. She had them all hustled
under a blanket shield.
There was only room for one adult with the children. She had no other
protection. She laid across them shielding them from the fire. I am sorry
sir. John is in shock.
Bo and Abe offer little help. John brakes down and cries. I died tonight
too my world is gone. I can't live without her. John the children need you.
John turns around and sees the tiny little faces.
Belle crawls up into her daddy's arms and Brady cuddles up to John. Abe
calls Laura and Mike. John why don't you and the kids come over to the pub
for now .yea I guess. John walks around in a daze. Carolyn, how do I tell
them there mommy is never coming back?
John you are still in shock take some time then you will know what to do.
Laura and Carolyn get the kids settled in and Laura trys to get John to
take a sleeping pill but he won't..

Chapter 40
John is up all night. He goes out to the balcony and looks to the sky. Doc
there sure are allot of stars up there why did one have to be yours? I
don't know how I can go on without you. Doc you were, you are my life. John
feels that emotional bond that the two of them shared and it sends shivers
down his spine.
 Oh Doc! The next several days are spent in limbo. John is just going
through the motions not really feeling anything.
John wanted the funeral to be as easy on the family as he could so he had
the ashes planted in the mausoleum.
There was a very short service. After which everyone went to the pub.
Carolyn can you take the kids back with you? I need some time. Sure John
take whatever you need. John walked to the pier.
The pier was foggy and overcast. John looked over the open water any
remembered all the happy times they had shared. John shivers, he feels that
love the connection they share and then it is gone.
Oh Doc! John sits on the bench for several minutes and he feels the pain
physical pain. Doc  what are you trying to tell me? I loved you with all my
heart. John returns to the pub and trys to deal with what he has left.
At the police station:
John has lost himself in work so he doesn't have to feel. Abe did you get
any more information back on the cause of the fire? Yes John we did. The
fire started in the master bedroom.
The bedroom? Strange hu! They used an excellent too. They wanted someone to
die in that fire. Steffino I am looking for you and when I find you you
will wish it was you in that fire.
John I am not so sure he is involved. We don't have any other common
denominator. The phone rings John here. There is a bomb in the Pub. John
looks like he saw a ghost. What is it John?
The guy on the phone said there is a bomb at the Pub. Lets go. They arrive
at the pub and get everyone out Abe is sending in a robot to find the bomb.
They located the bomb and had it disposed of. John are you all right? You
look terrified, I missed it.
 How could I have missed it. You missed what John? Well suppose you cloned
a person, the clone would be that person. So? Now if you were a clone you
would be competing with each one wanting to be perfect. But we know that
only the real one is perfect.
OK John we follow. Now if you weren't the original wouldn't you want to get
rid of all the other clones? I think they are killing each other off, the
fires set at Steffino's were to get rid of the formulas so no one can
repeat the process. But the loft, your house, the pub?
