Chapter 41
 Well if you were upset you would lash out. The clone is jealous of Marlena
and her life so they are attacking everyone she loved or was involved with.
Makes sense John but how do we find out how many there are?
Well we have to find his lab. We have been trying to locate that for 3
years. Well my guess is that Doc is alive and Steffino has her. Steffino
would never let her die. What did we bury? One of the clones?
Abe what do you know about a boat called the Diedra ? Nothing why? Well Doc
saw the boat an commented on  it.
 I think it is worth checking out. I will put some men on it. Abe, Bo we
have to find Doc. Ok now lets see if there is any other holdings that
Steffino  has. John we have checked all of them and found nothing.
I am going to go look at the viedo again and see if we can get something we
missed the first time. Good idea.
 John puts the tape in and watches as two small children play. They can
only be about two. John has a feeling that they mean something.
There are trees and a dense  forest in the background. Look  there! There
is a house or plantation like structure in the back ground.
 Bo can we get stills on the house? Right away John. Have we identified the
woman on the tape?
Yea we did John. Well are you going to keep me in suspense? No John but
your not going to believe it. Abe puts the picture on the bulletin board.
Then he takes a picture of blond hair and puts it over the hair in the
picture. Oh my God!!
That's what I said John. It's Marlena. The question is is it the real one
or a clone? The phone rings. Abe here sir we found the ship. Where is it?
She is docked at a port in New Orleans.
Do you want us to close in? no! stay were you are we are on our way. Yes
sir. John we found the ship. She is berthed in New Orleans. Let's go Abe.
Within 15 minutes they were on a helicopter.
The trio arrive in New Orleans and take over the operation. Bring me up to
date on what you have seen so far captain. We found people going to and
from the ship. Where do they go to.
I had a man follow them but he claims they disappear in thin air. What? He
followed them into the church over there but when he went in, the church is
was empty. Sounds like Steffino.
Abe, Bo  and  John head over to the church.
Abe there has to be a secret passage or something. Let's search the place.
The trio search and the only thing they find is a tapestry. This looks like
the DeMera crest.
 I think it is John. Lets take it out this door and look at it in the
light. John walked outside and stops dead in his tracts. The trio look at
one another not believing what they are seeing.

Chapter 43
 John it's the garden on the tape. This is no coincident. Is the priest
here we need to talk to him. I'll go find him Abe. John and Abe search the
garden for clues. They sit down on the bench. This is the very bench in the
vedio. Bo comes back with the priest.
John he has only been here for a short time. I don't think he will be much
help. The tapestry you have the tapestry. Yes I was going to look at it
why? Sir that belongs to our largest contributor and we were instructed to
never move it. I have to ask that you return it at once.
 Abe and John both look at the tapestry very carefully. Woven in to the
tapestry is a key and on the back of it John finds a map. Abe look!! What
do you see John? Maybe what we were looking for.
 Father I would like to copy this and then I will put the tapestry back
were it was. Well I guess that would be satisfactory. Now if you would you
excuse me. John traces the map. Abe takes the key and the trio depart.
Back at the hotel.
John you have to sleep you are exhausted. I can't abe not until I find Doc.
John you have to be strong for her she is going to need you. John sleeps
for two hours and is up trying to decipher the map and key.
 Abe this is it. this is why they disappeared in the church look. there is
a secret door next to the confessionals hidden in the paneling. This must
be a map of his locations.
 John this goes all over the city. It will take us years to find him. What
about the key Bo? Lets go exploring. John heads over to the church. The
trio enter the passage and discover it is an underground maze.
John we will never find our way out. Bo there are doors all over we can
come out any where. The trio look to see if they can find the most used
passage way.
 Having found it they proceed down the path. Hearing noise they go out the
nearest door so they won't be discovered. To there surprise they come out
in a brush.
Gently they push the brush aside and find the house in the vedio. It looks
deserted. Come on lets go. John enters the house and finds a cook. Not
wanting to be discovered he ducks out and the trio returns to the passage.
They go back inside and cautiously they follow the path.
 The path is long and not very well lit. John hears the sounds of small
children. There are children down here? Bo be careful enter slowly. Bo
peeks around the corner and sees Steffino.
 Bo signals to the other two and they walk back down the passage. Abe, John
all I could see was Steffino. We have to be careful. Did you see anyone
else? No but his henchmen can be anywhere. Let's go out here and go over
our plan.

Chapter 44
The trio walk out of the passage and come out in a barn. OK Bo exactly what
did you see? I saw Steffino's back , it looked like a child about 2 and
some gold polls in the front of  Steffino.
 The room is large and has two other passageways out of it. Looking at the
map they find the other paths. It would be easier if he wasn't here. We
need backup. Maybe not.
 What do you mean Bo. Well he was talking to some one in the room. They had
to be in front of him because I didn't see them. Any way he told them he
had to go to Salem tonight.
 Let's wait till he leaves and we can go back. Sounds like a good plan to
me. The trio wait in the barn till the sun drops. Let's go. They enter the
passage way and arrive in the room to find Marlena in a gold cage. Doc!
John! Marlena is crying. I knew you would come.
Bo the key see if it fit's. The key opened the door. She runs into his arms
oh John I knew you would find me. He takes her lips in a very passionate
kiss. Hey you two we have to get out of here. Time for that later.
John I can't go with you. You what? I can't go John. Well you are coming
with me
. John there is so much I have to tell you. You can do that when we are
safe. John I can't go!! Doc! John Steffino has the children. What children?

John the children I won't leave without them. OK OK where are they? I don't
know. Steffino only allows me to see them for short periods of time. If I
leave without them I will never see them again.
 Doc you have to come with us now! I don't know if we can get to you
another time. Well then save the children. I will stay if I know they are
safe. I don't care what he does to me as long as I know the children are
safe .John  Looks at Marlena with an odd look.
 The children? John someone is coming. Come on we have to get out of here.
John leaves crying with his question unanswered. Marlena greets Steffino
with tears in her eyes.
 Well my pet what are you crying for this time. I haven't started yet
tonight. Are you looking forward to it? Is it possible to hope you have
accepted your fate and will cooperate?
I do so not like to have you restrained. Here put this on and put on that
wig it's time for movies. I need to get John's blood to boil and nothing
does that better than seeing his Doc being abused.
And besides I get pleasure from it to. Unknown to Steffino the trio hears
every word and Abe, and Bo have to restrain John so he will not give away
there position. I can't leave her there. John you have to, for now.
The trio retreat to the barn. We need to find out where the kids are. This
is going to be more complicated than we thought. Why is Doc so interested
in those kids?
You know Marlena she would do that for anyone Steffino was holding. We are
going to have to find those kids and get them to safety and get Marlena at
the same time.

Chapter 45
 If he discovers one or the other gone he will double the guard on the
other. The trio go over several plans and decide to try and sleep. They are
awaken by the sound of a helicopter.
What is going on? It's a helicopter Bo. Steffino is leaving. Great maybe
now we can find the kids. Bo why don't you check out the boat and Abe and I
will each take the house and cabin.
Come back here in one hour. Sounds great. They each take off in there
prospected direction. Bo is able to get on board easily. He moves around
and finds only a cabin boy on board.
 Bo returns to the barn..
John and Abe search the house. John finds two cribs in one of the front
bedroom but not the children. One of the other bedrooms looks like the one
in the viedo  Abe finds the housemaid.
 Roulf I am going to take the wee ones to that beautiful young lady to
feed. I will be right back. With that she departs. Abe signals John and Bo
this may be our time to get them all.
The housemaid is taking the kids to Marlena. I heard Steffino say that he
would be gone till 11:00 tonight. You may be right Abe. Let's go. The trio
proceed down the passage.
 There is one guard they take out. As they enter the room John sees Marlena
nursing the baby. For a moment he stops and his heart breaks knowing that
what DR Marks said must be true.
 She had Steffino's child. Twins. Oh God No.  John quickly comes back to
the task at hand. Come on Doc we have to go now. ..the key fits the lock
and they free her and the kids Abe  and BO each pick up a child
John takes Doc's hand. They walk down the passage to the ship. The child
starts to cry and they are afraid there position will be detected. Marlena
takes the child and puts her to her breast silencing the cries.
 There is one guard at the end of the passage and he is quickly taken out.
They arrive at the opening and check.
The rest of the way to there escape route is in the open. Seeing only local
residences of the island they blend in and walk to the ship. Once on board
the cabin boy is set afloat.
 Bo takes over the bridge and the others sit in the main room area. Marlena
nurses the babies and puts them to sleep in one of the cabins. Since they
found Doc John has been very distant.
 He is sitting in the main cabin looking out the window crying. Marlena
comes over to John. John we need to talk. No Doc I can see, we don't have
anything to talk about.
 With that John leaves and goes to the bridge. Marlena is very hurt and
crying. Abe tries to comfort her. Abe oh Abe I know what he thinks but I
love him with all my heart.
 Then you have to tell him that. John will calm down just give him time. He
didn't know the kids were yours. It just surprised him that's all, don't
give up he will come around.
