Willow Rosenberg
Cute Computer Dork

I love love love Willow. She is definitely one of the best characters on BtVS. She is pure, good, sweet, funny, brilliant, and perfectly charming. Willow is just so damn cute! She is so understated, but that is what makes her a great character. One of my things, a pet peeve, I guess, is that I cannot stand over-acting. Leo DiCaprio overacting -- you all know what I'm talking about. Aly doesn't do that, and it would just be wrong if she did. Willow is so painfully shy sometimes, and awkward, but there are times when she comes through strong.

I'm glad that Willow is starting to get over Xander and fall for Oz. Oz is so sweet, and he really, really likes Willow a lot. Finally, she is beginning to like him back, even though he is a werewolf and tried to kill her and all. I don't want to see Willow and Xander together, because I know that Xander would just break her heart. Xander is in love with Buffy, still, even though he's with Cordy. When Xander and Willow almost kissed in When She Was Bad, I got excited at first. Then I realized the what the implications of that kiss would be. When Xander pulled away, I felt bad for Willow, but it was for the best. Also, Willow would worship Xander, and Xander could never return that kind of devotion. Oz could, and seems very willing to. I've heard that Seth Green, who plays Oz, is going to be an opening-credit character next year, so it sounds like Oz is going to stick around. Seth and Aly play well off each other, and I have enjoyed seeing their blossoming romance. Oz could be the kind of man that Willow always wanted Xander to be, if she just gives him a chance. I have a feeling that she will, but I've had feelings that have been wrong before, amazingly, so...

Something else about Willow that is fabulous -- her devotion to Buffy. She is the best friend that anyone could ever have, and she loves Buffy more than anything. She was fiercely determined to try to rescue Buffy with Xander during Innocence when the crew thought that Buff and Angel had happened upon the Judge. Of course, she wasn't thinking incredibly rationally at the time, but I think that she probably would have gone anyway, even considering the major danger and life-threatening situation thing. When I saw Welcome to the Hellmouth I felt so bad for Willow, for many reasons, but one was that she seemed so surprised that Buffy actually wanted to talk to her. And she was so insecure about everything she said, probably because Cordelia was such a raving BITCH to her, of which evidence the water fountain scene was case in point.

So it would now appear that Willow is Jewish, and I know that a lot of people have been speculating about this topic and wondering why it has never been addressed. My view is who the hell cares??? I believe that I quote Buffy correctly when saying, "Note to self: religion, creepy..." I feel that it just isn't that important on this show, from the practicing religion aspect. However, it definitely is nice to have one main character (besides the undead, of course) who is not a seeming WASP. This issue is one of my few criticisms of the show, but I'm not going to get into that now, and I'm sure that you're thanking me...
