OUT OF THE PIT
by SkyKnight
Trapped in the pit, and her hatred for Xena, Callisto is buried beneath
the hot flowing molten lava. Screaming her cry of war, while using her godly
powers to free herself, her efforts fail. Her hatred for Xena rises for
the Warrior Princess lured Callisto into this hot tomb that might imprison
her forever. Still she tries to free herself, but all her efforts fail.
Callisto was displeased, for if she could not torture Xena and kill her,
who will? As her anger peaked, she wondered what her favorite Warrior Princess
was doing now. Days went by and she was still buried beneath the lava. As
she was floating in the lava, she remembered Xena's little betrayal. Pondering,
Callisto asked herself, "Why did she do it? I was just helping her!"
She knew then Xena won. Callisto thought of the battles between them. "All
I wanted was to kill Xena or her to kill me!"she thought with rage
and anger. She remembered her own death in the quicksand and how she got
into Xena's body. "Those were the days," she laughed. The hours
past, minute by minute, still she was not getting anywhere.
Meanwhile, Ares watched Callisto from Mount Olympus. He thought about freeing
her because of all her anger and rage that were unfulfilled. Then, he got
an idea. "Maybe," he said, "If I talked to Callisto I might
be able to work with her and free her. Yes, I will take away her godhood
and immortality in exchange for her freedom." As each minute past,
Callisto wanted her freedom and Ares could see that. So, with a motion of
his hand, he and Callisto (who was tied in a chair and could not move) were
in Hades. Callisto looked at him and laughed, "Oh Ares, how kind of
you for getting me this beautiful throne and my freedom, can I go now?"
Ares simply replied, "You're free to go when you give me your godhood
and your immorality." "Take it then, for Ares you do know I will
find another way to become a god again?" Callisto laughed. Ares looked
at her then smiled. "Done," he said, "and Callisto, before
you go do you want to work with me? Your rage and anger excites me and the
possibilities are endless as to what we could do for each other. So, how
about it?" Callisto turned and looked at him and laughed, "Never,
Ares, for I want to kill Xena. Maybe after I succeed, I will reconsider."
She then turned and walked away from him and left. The cold breeze touched
her face as she approached the world of the living as she whispered to herself,
"Xena I'm back."
