True, the first time I saw REM was on emptyV, and
I've never seen them live, but since I saw the debut of, of all things, "stand", I was hooked.
So, I have no pretensions to loving REM before
everyone got their grubby ears on them, but I
would say I am an avid fan.
As a poet myself,I couldn't help savoring his lyrics, and crushing on him as well (my crush with eyeliner) but the band's sound(s) are equal to the talent (and ego)he shows-- or guess, his persona
shows.
Your site was a good site. I like the lyrics even
more than then ambiguously sexy mug on MIKE S., so
to see them was a great thing.
